Default Katie Holmes Out of Batman Begins Sequel?

I just read over at Latinoreview.com that Katie Holmes has been axed from the Batman Begins sequel and that they're looking for a replacement now. What do you guys think? Me, I'm kind of glad. Holmes is good for a lot of roles, but NOT as a crusading attorney. She was so out of place in that movie it was ridiculous.

I don't think they should replace her as Rachel Dawes. It might be better for them to just introduce another love interest, like Vicki Vale.

They should get rid of a love interest completely IMO. It always seemed so perfunctory to me that they gave Bats a love interest in every movie. Get rid of the love interest, introduce the Joker, and add in the Batman-Joker finale from Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns". Now THAT is a movie.

I believe Batman sequel is worse than original one. I think that Heath Ledger as Joker is not good enought to act. He has pressure to compare with Jack.

I don't think the pressure on him will be to compare with Jack, it'll be to just do a good job. He doesn't need to be as good as Jack was, just good in general. Besides, I think this version of the Joker will be different from the original.

I don't really mind Heath Ledger being the Joker. I think he'll do just fine.

But the problem is - everyone likes to compare.

You see the reaction of choosing daniel craig as 007.

True - it's pretty much human nature to compare. But I've heard that Daniel Craig was a really good 007. Also, Christian Bale was the best Batman to date, Gary Oldman was the best Jim Gordon to date, and Michael Caine was the best Alfred. Will Ledger be better than Jack? Doubt it, but he can't be that bad.

Daniel Craig was definitely an amazing 007. He brought out the actual Bad-Ass-ness of the 007 role. The only bond that sucked was Timothy Dalton. (not a fan of Pierce but he was good in golden eye). But anyways, they were all good in their own ways. back to the batman though.

I agree that they shouldn't have any love interest this movie. Try to use something else as a sideplot. That and Katie holmes is all weird after marrying tom cruise.

I think Ledger will surprise everyone though. He's a really good actor and i think he can definitely pull it off.

I don't care whether they replace Ms. Holmes or not--they'll introduce a "love interest", anyway, because movie scriptwriters can't seem to write anything that doesn't have a love interest. *shrug* Anyway...they should not be re-working the Joker. Jack gave the definitive performance; likewise for Danny DeVito as the Penguin. If they want a villain in need of reworking, then re-work Two-Face or The Riddler. I like both Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey, but both their performances...well...sucked.
