American Idol starts on Tuesday. Does anyone else watch it?

I liked it when it first started, then I stopped watching for 3 seasons, and for some reason I went back to it last season. I'll be watching again this year, but I heard this might be the worst batch of singers they've had so far. Actually, that might make it more interesting.....

I watch the auditions for a laugh, then usually come back at the end when they pick a winner. Everything else in-between is just too tedious and repetitive.

i am weird about it.
I absolutely love the auditions part, and yet when a really really bad singer goes on, i put the tv on mute. For a) cuz they're bad and b) i dont like seeing people having their dreams crushed. And yet, that is exactly why i watch it :P

Okay, just think of what's more embarassing:

Having your mother/father/best friend tell you you really can't sing
OR
having 3 random stangers tell you on NATIONAL TELEVISION???

why dont these parents tell their kids they CAN'T sing? Cuz they dont want to hurt their feelings or embarass them??????

That's not really true. You DO have to actually be able to sing to win AI.

yeah, he got his 15 minutes, but that chick just won a Golden globe for a movie role she would NEVER have gotten if it wasnt for AI. And she didnt even win the damn AI. Hicks did. He faded into obscurity (though i loved him). Kelly Clarkson is bouncing along nicely as is Carrie Underwood and Clay Aiken.

The auditions the past couple days have been really funny. I especially enjoyed hearing all those men who tried to sing "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls.
