Default fanvids--help!

Hey
I've been trying desperately to make one of those fan videos on youtube for heroes but I'm having trouble importing the episodes to my movie maker. For those of you who have made them, where do you download the episodes/clips for your fanvids? I tried Veoh player but it only worked for one episode and then it kept making my computer freeze when I tried to import the other episodes.

I've never made one of those vids, so I'm not entirely sure about this, but I think the easiest way is to record the episodes onto a dvd-r and then copy them onto your computer so you can edit them in movie maker. I've also heard that some people use tivo.

Thumbs up Re: fanvids--help!

Hi!

I make videos and have just ut my first Heroes video on you tube yesterday. I downloaded the HDTV versions of the episodes as the lower quality versions did not work well as the action scenes would go all blocky on my screen!

First the place where I downloaded the episodes from was http://www.got-heroes.com/Volume-One-Genesis-f16.html

When this page opens it will list the individual episodes. however if you scroll down there is a link that is called 'download all heroes episodes 1-23 HDTV'. You then get 23 links to a megaupload page. Simply enter the three letter code and you can download the episodes. You are limited to downloading one or two episodes a day if you download for free. If you have an account then there is no limit BUT it does cost money to do so! Each download is about 350 MB which takes about an hour and a half for each episode to download but sometimes when I downloaded them they only took about half the time!

These files are .avi files which although is compatable with movie maker and other media players you may oly get the audio track but not the visual. IF it does this is means that you do not have the correct codecs which make it compatable. You need to download (which I was recommended to use and it works) K-Lite Codec Pack which you can find here: http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Co...k_download.htm

To be sure I downloaded the FULL package which was about 12.5 MB. Once the codec is downloaded they will play in your media players and in Movie Maker. I hope that was helpfull to you and if you have any questions just ask

P.S. Here is the link to my heroes video if you are interested in seeing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d7H5fL679c
