The Haitian's secret

As we saw in ep. 11, The Haitian covered Claire's mouth, and told her "Can you keep a secret?" I believe that his secret will be that he is really an agent of a rival organization similiar to HRG's, sent to uncover HRG's doings and gain his trust.

Thoughts? I'm probably way off, there isn't even any evidence to support it, but hey, maybe I'm on to something.

The "secret" isn't something about the Haitian specifically, it's about Claire lying to her father and making him believe that she no longer remembers anything about Sylar, Peter, etc. The Haitian wants to know if she's capable of keeping a secret that big.

I concur. He wants HRG to think she can't remember for reasons which are impossible to determine at this time. He could be working with a rival group...or with no group at all. For all we know, it could be a ruse set up by HRG himself--"tell my daughter to pretend that she doesn't remember" and then testing her to see if she slips up. nah...only I would be that Byzantine.

yeah the secret was just that he wasn't going to erase her mind and he needed her to keep that secret from her dad because its important that she remember.

I agree with your theory that was the first impression I got but then again Heroes seems to be much like Lost.

Or I shouldnt say the word Lost in this forum.. hmm .. >.<

It is possible that The Haitian is a spy for HRG's bosses. He has a great deal of autonomy but he has been abusing it to protect his family in his own twisted way. Unfortunately, his over reliance on the Haitian memory erasing ability has caused him to become sloppy as is obvious from his encounter with Nathan and the number of times he's had to erase his wife's memories. His concern for Claire has made him even more sloppy than usual and that lead directly to Eden's death. Obviously, they would be concerned about this.

I think that HRG has hidden the truth about Claire's powers from his bosses, they've discovered this through the Haitian, and they have plans for her that HRG would not approve of.

what if Claire's mind could regain all her memory(if it's to be erased) due ot her regeneration abilities? She could he"heal her memories"

Memories are synaptic paths in the brain. MBG's ability to erase memories isn't damage that can be healed; rather, it is simply a rewriting of those synaptic paths, much like erasing a hard disk.
