"We originally intended the Grim Reaper to come sooner and more often. In fact, we started out with a couple of the heroes already on the chopping block," Kring tells TV Guide this week. "Every actor and character is working so well that it's been hard to let anyone go. Still, killing this character will generate a tremendous amount of story."
"We've introduced Sprague (Matthew John Armstrong), who is radioactive and seems to be getting worse," he continues. "But we'll posit another theory that it's Peter (Milo Ventimiglia). He's having so much trouble absorbing the powers around him that he goes into a coma."
The storyline of Claire's father, Mr. Bennett--known as H.R.G. for the horn-rimmed glasses he wears--will continue, with an unusual twist. Kring says one of the Heroes will begin working for him.
"(Someone) will be seduced into the web of horn-rimmed glasses," Kring tells the magazine. "We're keeping things ambiguous with H.R.G. There's a lot of uncertainty as to just how bad he really is, or where his allegiance really lies. He seems to be a very loving father, so the audience should feel torn about him."
I think Mohinder will be the one to go work for HRG. Now that he knows it was sylar and not HRG, I think they'll approach him and let him in on whats going on. Especially now with eden dead.
I agree about Mohinder, he makes the most sense. His work would interest HRG more than any other character, and Mohinder already has more than one tie to Mr. Bennet.

I don't think it'll be Mohindar. Mohindar is finding out a lot more about his father... and he'll probably find out that his father didn't trust HRG all that much. Nathan is out of the picture... remember HRG & the Haitian tried to kidnap him once before... and that didn't work. Nathan's memory couldn't be wiped free of that moment. Since Nathan remembers that they tried to kidnap him... I don't think he'll be to privy to the idea of joining forces with him. Its more likely that Matt may join forces... but you never know...
DL is a possibility... if HRG makes him an offer he can't refuse.
I'll have to think about this one a bit more...

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is no longer torn at all about HRG. People got upset with Matt reading his wife's mind and using that information to give her exactly the romantic evening she wanted. What about HRG's willingness to allow a 3rd party to mindrape his entire family?
I no longer care about his intentions. Loving father? Um, no. That's not an expression of love. That's control. The type of control that chronic abusers employ. "I love you. I don't want to lose you. Therefore I will beat the crap out of you if you even look at another man." I was willing to give him the benefit of some doubt while Claire was avoiding confiding in him, but his actions subsequent to that confession have shown me his true colors. And sorry, but they look a lot darker than grey.
Well, if he was being honest with Sylar about his bosses vivissecting Sylar to see how he works, he might have a real justification for sending the Haitian to take Claire's memories. If they were going to vivisect Sylar just to see how he works, they they would have no qualms about doing the same to Clair to find a way to replicate her regenerative powers. If they could copy her powers then they could save countless lives, repair countless injuries, and, perhaps, grant physical immortality to the entire population of the planet.
The good there outweighs the harm caused by performing torturous and possibly deadly medical experiments on one cheerleader. But, while a dispassionate observer would see it that way, HRG would not. He would deny immortality to the masses if that immortality was gained at Claire's expense.
Well thus far he's had Eden, Isaac, Sprague and Matt in his custody, no vivisections. So I pretty much discounted his statement as being the overall agenda of whatever organization he may represent. However, even it if IS true, the intentions of an agency and the actions of a "loving father" should be separate.
And messing with the conscioussness of any person is reprehensible. I don't see any threat that HRG could be "saving" his family from by wiping their memories. Their memories aren't currently the threat. I see them more as an inconvenience to his plans. And wiping their memories (particularly Claire's) would actually diminish their safety if they are unaware of an outside threat. So exactly who's safety was being safeguarded by these mindwipes? Not Claire's IMO, but her father's.
Nope. I can't look at his actions as anything except as an expedient and amoral solution to the problem of people knowing more than he'd like.

I concur--mindwiping serves only HRG's purposes.
The only person I could see joining HRG of their own free will is Jessica.
I can see DL joining him, for the right price and for making his "escaped convict" status go away.
I can see Nathan joining HRG if he thinks it will further his political career.
I can see Hiro, Peter, and Matt being manipulated into joining HRG through some simple truth-twisting.
