This is such bullcrap. You know, there are 7 days in a week, and the 5 weekdays are when most of the popular shows air. AND there are are about 2-3 primetime broadcasting hours each night......
SO WHY THE F#$% ARE THEY PUTTING 24 AND HEROES ON THE SAME NIGHT AT THE SAME TIME!?!?!?!
Don't make 2 of the most popular shows compete, thats just dumb. If you want the most amount of viewers, put your kick ass show on during the other networks s****y shows. Am i missing something or am i not the only one that this makes sense to? Im really pissed FOX is putting 24 on mondays at 9 also.
Thats just like saying "Hey, we don't want to necesarrily be #1 in the ratings, we just want to piss you off by taking some of your viewers"

Lol, yeah i dont even have cable so i dont know why im bitching. lol. I have to download heroes from iTunes. But when 24 season starts, my roomate and i normally go to his girlfriend apartment to watch it. But still...its the principle of the matter, lol.
why do they need to compete with heroes, it doesn't make sense to me. I dont know how the rating system works or anything but to me, it would make more sense to put your show on at a time that you can get the most viewers out of it.

The game of TV ratings isn't a normal game of "how can I win?" but mostly "how can I keep my other opponent from winning?". When network A comes up with a hot, new show you instantly take your best show and put it on opposite their new show, banking on your show's established audience for numbers. Since many people have TiVO (or something similar), then what the networks hope will happen is you actually watch their show and record the newcomer.
Strangely enough, it will probably take another couple of years before the networks begin really tracking the numbers of viewers who download the show, which really should be the market upon which they focus now. Online viewers are growing quickly.
It's only a matter of time before someone produces a TV show available only on places like iTunes. Someone has already filmed an entire movie using only a cellphone; that was in Italy, I think.

I don't think Fox needs 24 to compete with Heroes, more like NBC needs Heroes to compete with 24. Fox has always run 24 at the same time for the last 5 years, so they aren't the ones changing things up. NBC finally has a hit on their hands and they want to put it to the REAL test -- up against the fox juggernaut of 24 and American Idol.
But yeah, this sucks. They both come on at 80 central over in my area, too, so I'm gonna have to TIVO one and watch the other. But wait! There is good news! I'm buying a brand spanking new Dell multimedia computer (should arrive next week) so I can just record 24 on my Dell and watch it as soon as I finish Heroes! Yay!
I've never really been into 24, so the choice is obvious for me. However, I have followed it enough to be able to conclude that this is probably the last season. I agree with Mathy on that.

Keiffer Sutherland has already signed on o do 2 more seasons after this one.
