Jeph Loeb will be writing an arc of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8, the new Dark Horse Comics series picking up from where the television show ended, The Continuum has learned. <snip> Loeb is friends with Buffy creator Joss Whedon and at one time was was working with Whedon on development of a Buffy animated series for Fox Kids.
Buffy is scheduled to launch in March and will run 23-26 issues. Whedon is writing the first four issues and will also likely write the last arc. Loeb is one of several high-profile writers who will be contributing.

I'm not a comics fan - the only ones I own are Fray and Serenity - but I'm really looking forward to the Buffy S8 series. Joss says he's deliberately mimicking the way he's done his TV serieses in the past: writing the first 4 or 5 epis then turning it over to some great writers to continue the story under his guidance and add in new ideas along the way. 8) Both the cover and interior art look amazing too. Can't wait!
