It is. Spiderman mythology clearly states that Parker goes wrestling, gets conned out of money, lets the robber go, and then the robber kills Uncle Ben. This is immutable.
erm...didn't they clearly identify in the first movie that the robber kills Uncle Ben? He is identified as the shooter and he is driving Ben's car.
Now I have to go watch the first one again.

It was clearly identified of that I am sure. So now instead of being faithful to the mythology hes creating his own, Mr Raimi I am not pleased. I can see from the trailer why hes done it but I dont agree with doing it, if that makes sense.

Once again I find myself agreeing with you, seems familiar, maybe its because I just posted about deja vu. Of course maybe its because your right so often

I dont know about in the comics, but i remember from the cartoon i watched as a kid, the robber from the ring that killed his uncle ben ended up being Mysterio. But i think in the movie, they killed the robber, didn't they? didn't he fall outta the window? I dont remember.

Yes, he fell out of the window to his death. Fortunately no one a good enough look at Peter's preliminary costume to tie Spiderman to a possible homicide.
