Okay, I am starting a new thread for the Superman Returns Sequel, even though there are currently 3 thread discussing Superman Returns. 1 2 3 Since the sequel is it’s own movie, I’m just gonna start anew. SHH reports HERE that Rotten tomatoes has an interview with Brandon Routh HERE dealing with the sequel which Bryan Singer is attached to direct. The interview states that shooting won’t start for at least another 6 months and that the sequel should have more fight scenes. Basically the same news can be found by clicking either link above.

His brain isn't his commanding officer - Lois Lane in Season 5 of Smallville
Brainiac, Parasite, or Darkside. One of those 3. Of course, I'm not a Superman villain expert, so they could go another route, just as long as it's a good story. You're right, I'm sick of Supes Vs. Luthor (He doesn't need to be in every movie, right?)

I think they put him in there because the vast majority of people who goto see these movies have little to no knowledge of the superhero comics. They all know by now that Supes main nemesis is Luthor so they can relate to the film, its been done to death now, time to move on and possibly drop the kryptonite for a movie or 2. Maybe Doomsday could be the villain, I mean he is so strong and has no need for kryptonite, he can just be reborn stronger each time he is befeated til he can batter Supes. Still I wouldnt put money on there being no Luthor and or kryptonite as a weapon.

It would almost have to be the Parasite. Brainiac, if done from the point of view of an alien intelligence directing a takeover of Earth, could be understnadable...but I don't think the general public would respond to it. Darkseid wouldn't have enough name-draw appeal, because most of the general public would ask themsleves "the dark side of what?"
Parasite would allow for a way to drain/damage Superman that doesn't involve kryptonite or other Kryptonians. A personal challenge for a change; not another "save the entire world" plot, that is.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Bryan Singer said Superman's enemy is gonna be an alien of some sort. I doubt it'll be Darkseid though....unless the JLA comes together, which seems impossible right now.
The worst part of the movie for me was Lex Luthor. Everyone was playing the movie straight and Lex was playing it corny. Nearly ruined the whole movie for me actually.

Yeah, Lex was one of the main reasons I thought the movie paled in comparison to Batman Begins.
