Hi guys! What's up? Don't know if you've noticed over at Goners the uproar over the recent wave of cease and desist orders being sent out by Universal Studios. Seems after actively promoting fan activity for free advertising last year, they've decided they'd rather spend all their money suing people who have no money. Several Firefly/Serenity fan shops at Cafepress and other places have shut down and the rest are nervously going through their stock to strip out the obvious copyright violations.
What's that got to do with you? Well, NBC is a Uni company and if you know of Heroes fan shops they too may be under the gun eventually. Gorram lawyers!!
Some of us are fighting back, though, including our very own lexigeek who runs blackmarketbeagles.com. He's pulled some of his designs but feels what's left is non-copyright-violational. He also added a new set of designs which I think everyone here could relate to including my fave:
I just love that tee!

Sorry cabri, but I decided to split this off of the SOG and Tob show thread. I hope you don't mind but this seems to be so serious a topic that it really needs its own thread. The SOG and Tob show is really supposed to be light-hearted, so putting it there would've been a disservice to what you're trying to get across.
I thought about putting this in the TV thread since this might have related to HEROES merchandising, but since it might also deal with Goners, Serenity, and other movies and TV shows its probably best left here.
I like the pics, and that would be funny, but is there any harm putting "Universal/NBC doesn't want me to say" on it, since they are the ones enforcing their copyrights?

I'm not really up on trademarks, copyrights, etc, but I would think some version of nbc and universal studios is a trademark. Aren't trademarks also protected? I suggested the following to lexigeek but I don't know if it would fly:
