Default The Forums and the writers

I bet my hat that they (the shows producers) have a crew that sweeps through the net on forums. But they just do this for popularity research or they also uses this to, lets say, get some ideas? Does anyone have some kind of "official" report or something about this???

On Lost, in one particular forum there have been members that claimed that some of things in the show were the result of fan interference. I guess when they found the hatch in Season 2, people noticed how new the washer and drier were and that's why Libby "Hanged a Lantern" (State the obvious to make the viewers think its okay that it's obvious and there really is a reason) on it later in the season. Also, Lost forum crazies mentioned that there was this bird that cried "Hurley" once so, of course, Hurley mentions it later in Season 2.

Above is just speculation, so nothing official. What might happen is that something gets found and put in the forum talk and then tons of people contact ABC for Lost, NBC for Heroes and the powers that be (TPTB) ask the writers for some mention to either explain or something. I dunno. What was I saying?

Even if scriptwriters lurk on fan forums for possible ideas, I doubt they would say so because then the fan who created idea would be legally entitled to receive royalties from the show.

agree, that would be un-ethical of them to do ,

hmmm... some of us might be rich if they paid us for the ideas mentioned in this forum.
