Default America goes Nuclear!!

I'm probably one of the very few here... but I just watched the latest episode of Jericho... and at the end of it... you see 2 missles being launched...

What's up with all the Nuclear explosions? You've got it in Heroes... in Jericho... what else is going Nuclear??

There was also one at the end of Galactica second season.
I think writers likes to make big badda booms and stuff. Good to cliffhangers.
Cliffhangers are also on vogue too. Before they only appear on season ends, but since Lost... I think these executives from those big networks are kinda desperated.

I watched Jericho as well. I think it is the 2nd best new show out there. Yeah, I saw those 2 missiles go out and I'm thinkin' MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) is in full throttle over there.

I agree... Jericho is right behind Heroes. I was hoping that Jake was going to continue on and explain to dear ol' dad exactly what it was he was doing for the past few years. I should've known better... the writers wanna keep us in suspense... so why spoil it now. It'll be much more dramatic when his secret does come to light. His and the black guy... Robert. Mr. I don't know nothin'... but I got my own personal satellite... and can access the web from my little notebook. He searched the National Security Data Base for Jake... and found him. Atleast I think it was National Security... Homeland Security... Department of Defense?? One of those...

You should already know me... it sounds like I know... but I really don't know... *sigh* hehehe

Jerico is playing off the fears many people feel about some sort of impending Apocalypse, although what satisfaction they get out of seeing people Imminentizing the Eschaton is anyone's guess. I suppose it makes them feel like they can say "see? I told you so". *shrug*

Heroes, on the other hand, also plays off people's fear about the future being rather bleak but offers hope for a brighter tomorrow. In this show, at least there are people who have the ability to make the world better...if only they knew how.

nuclear holocausts have several great subconscious allusions.

1.a soddom and gommorah type thing. all the nasty people get wasted
2. genetic mutations (and who doesnt like those??)
3. governments falling (who doesnt wish for that!)
4.a new start
5. power! How pwerful do feel even being able to threaten someone with that? They will then obviously do what you want!

1. nasty people get wasted, but so do the good ones
2. genetic mutations? maybe, but radiation sickness and death are more likely
3. our government isn't that bad.
4. getting a new start isn't worth a nuclear attack
5. countries need more than nuclear capabilities to be considered powerful
