We see in Episode four that Hiro meets Peter Perrelli. Some of you may ask, Why didn't the time stop affect peter?


Well, the're are 2 answers.

1. Peter is a mimic and mimics those around him, I don't think that he necessarily has to touch those who he mimics. He also has little control over his powers. So, he used the same powers as hiro, at the same time.

2. Future Hiro could have easily advanced his powers to the point of him pausing time for him and those around him.

Personally, I think option 1 would fit better, due to the fact that if Hiro could pause time for others he would just pause time for them all and then they could all pick away at their opponent. Making it an easy fight, and easy fights are not good for ratings.
