Episode Detail: Better Halves - HEROES
Leonard Roberts joins the cast as D.L. Hawkins, Niki's fugitive husband, who has special powers that make it nearly impossible for authorities to track him down. Also, in Las Vegas, Hiro and Ando are made an offer they can't refuse; Claire hopes meeting her birth parents will lead to answers about her indestructibility; and Mohinder prepares to leave New York---and Eden---so that he can lay his dead father to rest in India. Nora Zehetner, Jack Coleman.
^Not necessarily. In "The West Wing" Bradley Whitford's "secretary" wasn't listed as regular for Season 1 even though she was in almost every episode. For the next season, she was no longer listed as a "guest" and had her name on the intro and was considered a regular for the rest of the series. That's just the most apparent.
Oh, also "Chevron Guy"(Gary Jones?) on Stargate SG-1 has been on the series for all 10 years, but has never been considered a regular. He's been a guest since he only appears in about 1/4 of the episodes. So, considering my limited mind can recall 2 instances off the top of my head, this stuff must happen all the time.
Oh, and this is a bit different, but Lost has so many repeating characters that only are in flashbacks, but for 3 seasons now some are still playing their roles.

I wasn't sure...I remember in 24 all the guest stars would get killed off. Then again, it seems like all their characters eventually get killed off. That's the only reason I thought about that.
