So then do you think that the guy trying to kidnap the little girl from FBI headquarters was Syler? 'Cause that dude definitely looked white from the way the light was casting a shadow on his ears.

and maybe the cop couldnt hear what he was thinking because he has no thouts and thats why he eats brains of other people with abbilities....

This "S" shaped symbol has appeared on numerous occasions through out each show aired so far. I don't think it something related specifically to Sylar but to a more general concept in the show, exactly what remains to be seen. The producers just plug it whenever possible like easter eggs.

Im starting to think that the symbols dont actually have a purpose for the show. Its kinda hard to explain. The best relation i can give is like in the movie the 6th sense. Everytime you see the color red, it means theres something dead nearby. It plays no role in the actual story, but theres meaning behind it, a kind of symbolic meaning i guess. Thats kinda what these symbols are leading me towards. The symbol just means that someone nearby or someone referenced has some kind of evolutionary power. I dont think its going to actually be brought up in the show, and if they are, it'll probably only be to show how they are all connected by this evolutionary force.

some examples of where its been seen:
Matt : In the pool in Ep 2
Hiro : In the comic book of himself
Isaac : The paintings he made
Claire : On her geometry Book
mystery guy in bar : on his necklace in the pic above
All the people on Sylars string board : on their pictures (one of which was nathan)
Peter : in the picture he drew in Ep 2

If this is true, that would mean that mohinder and his father both also have powers (his fathers book and the program)

The only one that we really haven't seen it for yet is Niki (that i can remember anyways)

The reason i started thinking that the symbols don't really have a purpose to the storyline is mainly because of the one on claires book. Theres really no point in it being there. I can find reasons for it being just about everywhere else, but thats the main one thats throwing me.

we are controlled by a deity that lives in the mud and eats bugs.

Hahaha... doesn't Mohinder refer to the cockroaches as being a superior species... because the "cockroaches" seem to be the only species to have survived throughout the centuries??

And then he stops on one later that same episode in his fathers apartment...after he proposed that god may be a cockroach, haha. I thought that was funny.

Niki's squiggly line is seen in a picture drawn by Isaac. He draws Niki and the symbol in on her right shoulder. One of these threads has a pic of it. Leaving the boy as the only one who does not have the symbol associate with him in some way unless through is mother.
