I've compiled a few screencaps and other sources of information for those who have questions or may just want to see the scenes from HEROES. Questions that I'll try to answer include how many times was the "symbol" (or space between the CTAGs) shown in episode 2, how to spell
SYLAR*, and some particulars of Isaac and Niki.
First off,
here are two examples showing that the name is SYLAR (although the one on the tape came out a little dark). But that may not mean much since you can't be 100% certain that Simone's last name is
Deveaux (the most recent
correct spelling), because even on the NBC website, they use both spellings for her name,
Deveaux and Deveraux...
Next is a compilation of most of the instances of the "symbol" (or space between the CTAGs) that are mostly from Isaac's paintings (with other instances in other images to follow). But if you look at the code, you'll see that the shape is made from the plus signs used as placeholders to fill the space between the CTAGs (where c, t, a, and g are the dna bases)

(this is the
full size compilation, and some bigger, though still blurry versions of the code are
here or
here):

Unlike what others have surmised, the symbol isn't any code itself, since the shape is represented by plus signs in the code, although it does indicate that the supposedly (for story purposes) proper composition of dna bases to fully map the human dna (
which in reality has been completed) is found when all of the placeholders make that particular shape.

Other instances that I capped of the space between the CTAGs are on the 9thWonders comic (and
here's a comparison of the comic and actual scene), and what Peter drew of him
walking on air. And there's
one cap of the Bank of America sign in New York (as the camera spins around Hiro) that looks like it's supposed to look like the symbol, which I had to piece it together.
The following thumbnail shows
the last pages of the comic that Hiro is looking at, and the text that I could discern follows:
Last panel of the comic has what looks like a Nissan Versa heading to Las Vegas on 15 North (but I could be wrong about the highway number), and the bubble says

SYLAR is an acronym for something like

Or maybe

I can tell you from my own experience IRL that + signs in the context of DNA sequence presented in this way usually indicates insertional mutations...places where one or more nucleotides are inserted into the genome for whatever reason. That was the first thing I thought when I saw this screencap earlier. Most of the time this is irrelevant, as it is rare that these events also coincide with a gene (genes make up a small percentage of the human genome, it's mostly repetitive sequences which may have no function or may be regulatory elements). So perhaps this sequence shows us that the Hero's have not mutated existing sequence but actually gained new sequence, and possibly new gene(s) that give them super powers. If so, this would be the key to identifying any Hero, whether their powers have come forth or not. Genome-wide DNA analysis is an everyday procedure in forensic and research labs.

I wonder if the "Deveaux Society" is involved with dna testing?!? 8)
