Oh man!!! It's bloody at Claire's Homecoming Dance! :o
And is the tattoo half of a double-helix because if the lady in the painting is Niki, she would have half of the dna, and her reflection had the other half? It doesn't make sense, but I thought I'd ask.

First off, thanks for the pics, you big dang hero.

I think I'll start by removing some tags. Good catch on Claire's homecoming! On the other image, IMO that isn't a double helix, but rather that symbol that you see floating around on 9thWonders. I believe Ollie Grisby uses it as his avatar and is probably in the gallery section of 9thWonders. Below is the cropped pic of the Image.
You see, I did remove the tag.

Anyway, the finger is pointing to an off branch that you rarely see in a DNA or RNA strand. My purely ungrounded speculation is that might be the symbol for the Deveaux society. Why Niki Sanders would get a tattoo of it, I have no clue. Of course, in Dark Angel the tattoos were written into the DNA.
Edited: Okay, 8 hours after this post I'm editing it. It's probably okay if I double posted, but I ain't riskin' it. Anyway, I was looking at the 9thWonders site, and saw the original pic in the gallery section of the site. That would be the second pic above.
So the two pics are a bit different. But then I got to thinkin' (a very dangerous thing for me, BTW) and I wondered what the
mirror image would look like. Still not right. But when I flipped the mirror image upside down, the third pic is what I got. Now that is a lot closer to the tattoo, but it still isn't a perfect match. Oh well, more food for thought?
Edit X2: Okay, so I can be quite dense at times. Because the 9thWonders comic book is produced by HELIX comics group and that is the symbol of the comics. So in actuality I'm partially agreeing with you. D'oh! Anyway, a helix doesn't necessarily mean DNA. A single helix would actually be more like RNA, but I digress. There are plenty of meanings for helix besides DNA or RNA. Take a look at these sites from Dictionary.com.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/helix Basically a helix could mean anything spiral in nature.
