Hero will become famous soon enough
Default The article that isn't there, yet, about HEROES, + 1 that is

I was searching google news for anything about HEROES when I found this hit, "ABC Tries Fixing Sunday..." from less than half a day ago. (And to not make another thread, another article is at the bottom...)

Guess what? It's gone! That always makes me curious when something is published and then taken down without any fanfare or *much* evidence that it was even there. Was something published that's scathing or mean? Or is it something that wasn't supposed to be posted? So I used my friend google. Did you know you could find info on a page that isn't cached? Just search for words near the end of the summary, and google helps by providing more words surrounding what you're searching for! I was able to get this much by going that route:
Quote:
CALISTA FLOCKHART tries to sell herself as conservative, right wing radio talk show host Kitty, but we aren't buying it. Instead, she flutters about like she's still "Ally McBeal."

That's one of the first of many problems troubling this series from "thirtysomething" star-turned-producer Ken Olin. In fact, this series should be set in River City, because we've got trouble with a capital T.

The series tries to resurrect the family drama and fails miserably. Olin, Greg Berlanti ("Everwood") and playwright Jon Robin Baitz ("The Substance of Fire") have set this series in a tony area that feels like Santa Barbara.
But I was stuck after that, but only for a little while. I've noticed that sometimes you can see subscription news content if you look for the printer-friendly version. So I tried that with the correct article id, and I found it! I figure the article is mean to calista flockhart and abc, and it does say, "In tonight's episode" (so it was taken down until maybe Monday?), so it was removed, but here is the HEROES-related part:

"HEROES"

9 p.m. Monday

NBC-Channel 11

Comic Con fans have already embraced this new series.

When TV critic Ellen Grey from the Philadelphia Daily News did a viewer screening of new shows, she wanted them to watch "Studio 60."

They wanted to see "HEROES."

The buzz-worthy show finally pops up on the air Monday night, and it doesn't disappoint. There's plenty of sci-fi, a dash of suspense and even dollops of humor.

In tonight's episode, we meet most of the players in this huge cast. The series centers on people who have somehow moved up the Darwin track faster than the rest of us.

Some can fly. Some can read other's thoughts. Some can be in two places at the same time. And some are practically invincible. And none of them are quite sure what is happening to them.

Except the lovable Hiro (Masi Oka), who gets it right away. Hiro's a comic book fan, and when he discovers he can transport himself through time and space, he embraces his gifts. Hiro has decided he's been given super powers so he can save the world.

What he doesn't know is that there are others like him who aren't quite as happy about their particular gifts. This includes single mom Niki (Ali Larter), who isn't quite sure how she's able to go medieval on people — or why her image in the mirror looks so sinister.

We're a little confused by this character, too.

One thing is sure: There are good super people and bad super people. A genetics professor (Sendhil Ramamurthy) comes to New York to find out who killed his father. Along the way, we meet a tortured artist who can paint the future and two brothers, politician Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) and his empathic brother Peter (Milo Ventimiglia).

The "Hero" getting the most promo time is Hayden Panettiere's Claire, a cheerleader who has discovered she can survive things that would kill a normal human being.

"HEROES" offers up some great fantasy relief, but doesn't seem to be as labor-intensive as "Lost."
And here's another article with HEROES content (note the bolded text which I emphasized in the last paragraph below):

Adrian Pasdar: NBC's 'Heroes' a Sign of the Times

By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith
Sep 22, 2006
Adrian Pasdar, who plays a politician on NBC's "Heroes," debuting Monday night (9/25), points out that the much-buzzed series is just one of a string of recent TV and movie productions centered on heroes who are larger than life.

"The world is in such a state of flux -- it's about to become unhinged in so many areas -- I think it's a trend that's reflective of the state of things right now," notes the actor, who is married to famously-outspoken Dixie Chicks frontwoman Natalie Maines. "People say we need a superhero. Well, we've never not needed a superhero. There's always been room for them in any era. But you do see more of a prevalence of this kind of theme in times when people are scared."

He adds, "I think we have a chance of tapping into that feeling."

Certainly the show -- about a group of people who find they have extraordinary powers after an eclipse -- is keeping the actors guessing.

"I think that some characters who start out good are going to go over to the dark side, and I think that some who start off preconceived as bad are going to have a structural change in their DNA and become do-gooders," reports the actor, whose costars include Milo Ventimiglia, Hayden Panettiere, Greg Grunberg, Ali Larter and Masi Oka. "Mine is a little different from the other characters on the show in that he's the one in the public eye. I don't know what their plans are for him. I think I'm along for the ride as much as anyone else," adds Pasdar. "I think the stories are going to take people places they don't expect to go -- cast included."
So some will have their DNA altered?!?
