Just had two things to mention (you can take them as either suggestions or complaints, I guess). I was wondering if there was a link to heroesmedia.com here at the forums. I see that the "Main 'Heroes' News Page" is shown, but if this forum is a collaborative or cooperative effort between heroestheseries and heroesmedia, it seems like links should be given so a person could go to either site.
Also, I think it would be neat to see (if you have the storage capacity/bandwidth to host them locally) the trailers/profiles at the site(s). I guess it's because I prefer not having to mess with flvs (sometimes the encoding quality of the videos is poor) or the distracting junk at youtube, but I like finding versions of videos that are essentially "standalone" and do not need to be tied to some website's proprietary player to view it (within reason, I guess, since you can embed a .wmv file but it plays with wmp from ms, or to view swf viewers have to have the flash player plugin). For example, if you had a multimedia section where videos can be viewed, these Heroes character profiles and this in-theater trailer do not require a person to be directed away from the site (like to youtube) to see the vids (if you've stored them locally). HeroesFan has posted the swf in-theater trailer over at his site, and it seems like a good idea. Then people could come to your site(s) for the multimedia content and you're not sending people off to other sites for the content. But I am not familiar with any of the possible/potential problems of hosting videos, either.
Are there any flaws with that way of thinking? About video content, I would figure youtube's popular for a lot of reasons, but I also haven't (yet) messed with vids from itunes either, so that might help you see where I'm coming from.
P.S.-

Make your suggestions about how to improve, or let your complaints about, the main site HeroesTheSerires.com be known.
he could get in trouble with having videos on the site though. you know how like youtube always has to pull stuff after they're posted? that kind. the heroes people could get mad and demand he pull it which would get him in trouble with them. i'm guessing anyway.

You've got a point; don't want to be taking anything away from the show. Just thought it would help promote the show.
For example, http://www.pocketmovies.net carries trailers and vids optimized for portable devices, and I think the content isn't removed because it's good promotion.

I like your ideas, but I don't know what limits Sam has on his server. I too wonder about the legalities involved, but I think that if you are including publicized interviews and clips that have been released to the general public there wouldn't be any legal issues. I will PM Sam and discuss what issues that my present for him and/or the web server.
PS I don't think this is a collabrative effort between herosmedia and Sam. Sam has been flying solo until he asked me to help him.
Oh, I might've interpreted this announcement incorrectly:

24 Jun 2006 - More affiliates and a forum!
Ok, it's been a few day since an update. Not much new has happened for us Heroes fans. I *finally* saw a spot on TV featuring Claire during last week's Last Comic Standing, and if I can find it online I'll link it. In the mean time, we've got a few new affiliates! Also, we've joined forces with Heroes the Series and made a forum. All the cred goes to their site, but we figured why make Heroes fans jump to a dozen different forums, so we joined in on their fun. Check the forum out here.

Perhaps I am slightly incorrect, however an affiliate in terms of a website doesn't mean what the same in the outside world. An affiliate in terms of a website is that they have permission to post a link to another website making them an affiliated website. Under normal circumstances there is no real interaction between sites. (I used to own a couple of websites) As an example: If we had a link at the top to, say, Barnes and Nobles dot com, we would be an affiliate of that website and vice versa. It is a huge compliment to Sam that they chose his site to be the sole affiliate though.
It does appear from that posting that "Chris" and Sam did have some interaction in regards to the affiliation. I don't know those details that would be for Sam to address if he wanted to do so.
Or perhaps I am out in left field, which is a comfortable place for me as I spend a lot of time there.
