Sylar, Peter, and Nathan Back for Season 2, But Not DL?

The ashes of Peter and Nathan hasn’t settled yet, but we’ve already gotten possible SPOILERS about the upcoming Season 2, namely, Who survives, and who doesn’t, and who is on the fence? According to Eonline’s TV critic and spoiler guru Kristin, that fiery blaze you saw in the skyline over New York City might not be so bad after all…

So who will be returning?

His crimson snail trail to the manhole made that perfectly clear, and I also have it on high authority that Zachary Quinto (Sylar) is a series regular next season. Makes sense, since the guy pretty much stole every single scene he was in tonight, did he not? So creeptastic!

Hmm, I’m not so sure about this. Why bring back the same villain when you have a show that is designed to introduce new villains every season? I like Quinto, but I don’t know if I want to see the same villain for another 24 episodes. And if he does come back, they’ll just end up turning him good, or semi-good, to help battle the “other” bogeyman that Molly mentioned.

And the Petrelli brothers? Matt? Poor D.L.?

I have it on good authority that both Milo Ventimiglia (Peter) and Adrian Pasdar (Nathan) are back next season. I’m also 99 percent certain Greg Grunberg (Matt) is back, but not so sure about D.L. (Leonard Roberts). I have a sneaking suspicion Linderman’s blood or heart may heal him, but that could just be my wishful thinking, for I love Leonard so.

Again, I’m going to be terribly disappointed if they bring Nathan back. Peter is understandable, and even expected. But making Nathan a survivor of that blast will just destroy his character’s redemption arc for me. Matt and DL? I could do with or without. DL in particular has been shamefully ignored in Season 1, resulting in little empathy for his character.

And as for Hiro, as expected, he’s stuck in 17th century Japan, where he will apparently stay for a couple of episodes before making his way back to the present to rejoin the other Heroes.

So what do you think? I don’t like the possibility of too many characters returning. It just doesn’t seem “real” enough, and Tim Kring has always said that he wants the show, despite its fantastical premise, to be more real than not. We’ll see…

“Admit it, Pete, I’m way too handsome to die.”
