Sound Off: Heroes Volume 2 is Over. What Did You Think?

By Sam | December 6, 2007 (10:46 pm)

Well, folks, Volume 2 has come and gone, and if the writers strike continues, it will be our only volume of Heroes Season 2. If the strike is finally settled soon, Volume 3 of Heroes will re-commences after the Winter Break. Until then, what did you think of Heroes Volume 2? Good? Bad? Did it leave you wanting? Did you get all you could handle? Which character had the best storyline? How do you feel about D.L.’s rather lame death? How about Niki’s sporadic appearance throughout the season only to get (supposedly) blown up? What about the introduction and progression of Kristen Bell’s Elle?

Sound off about Heroes Volume 2. Tell us what you liked and didn’t like about it.

The mic is now open for comments…

I think most of Volume 2 was okay, the weak point was the New Orleans storyline, I hated them the most, and I just wanted to punch that freaky obese brat cousin of Micah’s dead (hope somebody kills him soon). Alejandro and Maya could be used for something more, but here they’re used just to help Sylar get back to New York and nothing more it’s kinda disappointing to see Sylar just offs them in the last few episodes. And yeah, the Claire Heroes 90210 storyline was weak at the beginning, but at least West turned into a cool (and useful) character in the last few episodes, not like the useless kid he was in the beginning of Volume 2.

Parkman got a nice storyline with a progression of power from mind reading to mind control, and the introduction of Adam Monroe as a new villain was uber-cool. Since Hiro just decided to bury him alive and not slice his head off so he could be gone for good, I am 100% sure that Adam will be back for revenge on later episodes. Niki should stay dead with the rest of the New Orleans gang, as for Nathan I do think that he should still be kept alive (but please don’t keep bringing dead characters alive, or just bring D.L. back already coz he’s cool).

As for Peter, yeah, lightning’s cool. Now why don’t you try using Ted Sprague’s powers again, Pete, like shooting nuclear bolts from your hands?

Stephanie on December 6, 2007

So I was way excited for Kristen Bell joining! They should continue her storyline, now as for the wonder twins, neither of them should be back.
And Sylar got back his powers, how cool is that!

I really liked Mohinder in Season 1 but he seems to have suffered some loss of clarity. I wish he’d regain some of his philosophical insight. Peter got a little confused too and Nathan helped give him resolution but then there goes Nathan. Durn. And now is Mr. Bennet getting mixed up too? Noooooo! I’m getting seasick. And who is in the Company besides Bob? What is their point besides keeping secrets and fighting Adam? Guess we might have to wait a long time to find out. Sigh.

louis on December 7, 2007

I like Adam and Elle! Great additions! But I did not like Nathan getting shot (and possibly dying). I watch Heroes for Nathan and Peter! And I agree that it would look really stupid if Nathan died considering Peter’s his brother and Claire’s his daughter. Either could help him.

BRING NATHAN BACK!!!

Kaminda Berugoda on December 7, 2007

I think the Volume 2 was not what most of us whould have expected. And the end is also disapointing since what all happend was leading the story in to the Volume 1. I think this company thing should go off and something new should come up… Lets hope for the bets in Volume 3

Rybot on December 7, 2007

The final episode in Volume II was complete rubbish. Honestly, the storyline wrapped up way to quickly, I guess compensating for the very sluggish beginning. All character story arc’s built up to that?! Monica/Niki/Micah with Niki’s (death) who cares, give ‘em a shot o’ Claires blood! Nathans gunshot wound, another syringe of blood please, and Elles slow progression to a ‘Hero’ is forced ( like we need another good guy!) Oh and Sylars power return: Boo! He had a great run in Volume 1, try coming up with a new villan guys…Something need to be retooled, that Season (Volume) just fell apart…

pops on December 7, 2007

i would like to know why exactly are the episodes stoping?? why is the strike happening, i can’t wait to contiue Heroes episodes. Hiro Nakamura the BEST!!!!

Danz on December 7, 2007

Oh come on. Don’t bring anyone to live once more. let Nathan go.

Lynn on December 7, 2007

yeah, the storyline went away a little bit too fast compared to season 1. I really expected more than this from the second season. Is it mainly because of the strike?

Loooove Adam! He’s a great addition, so hopefully we’ll see more of him. But the New Orleans storyline.. seemed so very much apart, like it’s not even connected to the core plot line.

Hope season 3 will a blast!

TJ on December 7, 2007

Season two fell way short of Season 1’s high mark. I agree with most that the entire New Orleans and the Maya/Alejendro storylines were a COMPLETE waist of time. And the whole Claire/West thing simply made me want to shoot myself. (This kid (West) just cannot act!) However, there were some good highlights of this season that are noteworthy. Such as Peter and his memory and the virus. But there are way to many questions left unanswered for this season to be really good at all. “Will Nathan die?”(Probably not) “Why didn’t Peter go to the future after he remembered who he was and how to control his powers?” “Or even after he re met Hiro?” Darn those writers.

Dave on December 7, 2007

Loved Elle, great addition there all in all I think she was the best thing that happened this season. Maya and Alejandro I could have done without. Every time I saw them I was like, here we go again… ugh. Ya know I never really did get all that sentimental to Niki, so I don’t mind seeing her go, but if Jessica comes back like the rumors say then that might be cool. She’s a good actress but her Niki/Jessica thing really bored me. DL’s death was super lame. I know the concept behind it but it was just so unnecessary, and avoidable…. uh phase… your staring right at the guy. And Hiro in the past, like Kring said, too long, but ya know I’ve already forgot about that and really it makes the Hiro/Adam dynamic a bit more real, if it was only 3 episodes as suggested it might have been a bit less believable.

Really looking forward to in Season 3:
1. Freaking Mad Adam
2. Jessica fragging people with her bare hands
3. Sylar slicing some more heads

Chris on December 7, 2007

Heroes is by far one of the best TV series that has come around in the past few years.

Season 1 was absolutely phenominal and has mademe a fan of this show for life.

Season 2 was a little rocky and not that well thought out imo. But it is still a good continuation of the story we were told in Season 1.

I agree with most the the New Orleans crew is absolutely rediculous. Monica serves no realy purpose and imo should be killed off.

Micah has so much potential in this show and Im surprised that they havent utilized him more.

With Niki being gone, the hotness factor in the show has really went down, but the addition of Elle has made it to where its not such a sausagefest.

I hope Micah’s rude, fat, little cousin gets hit by a car. I really dont understand why so many people like D.L. he was a subpar character and not really that interesting.

The Hiro and Adam story made this season for me. The way Adam harbors his grudge for 400 years absolutely screams supervillian. He has learned the art of manipulation and utilizes it to perfection. I cant wait to see what new evils Adam has in store for us when he gets excavated from the cemetary.

Matt has always been one of my favorite characters, and Im really happy that he is growing in his power.

I cant believe they killed off Nathan. He was by far one of the best characters in the entire series and while him getting shot is a great way to leave the fans hanging till Season 3, I dont see the storyline continuing to be as great without him in the picture.

Peter is a beast. By far the best character on the show. While he is gullible beyond all belief, we also have to realize that his heart is bigger than his brain and he takes people at face value. Its a major character flaw, but one that makes Peter the character that we all love.

Claire got off to a slow start in Season 2, but she was one of the main characters in Season 1 so maybe they were trying to allow the other cast members more ‘airtime’. I feel her part in Season 3 will end up bigger than Seasons 1 and 2 combined.

Sylar getting his powers back is great. He was a perfect villian for Season 1 and with the next season being about the “villians”, it just wouldnt be the same without Sylar running around decapitating people.

All in all Season 2 wasnt as great as Season 1, but honestly, what sequel is ever better than the original. The fact that the writer’s strike is still ongoing should have made it painfully clear that the episodes werent going to all be perfect. No one can tell this story like Tim Kring, but NBC knows the fans want their show and did what they could in order to please them. While we might not like everything we got out of Season 2, at least we got something and it wasnt quite as bad as everyone is making it out to be.

Long Live Tim Kring

Larry on December 7, 2007

I didn’t start watching Heroes until this season. and I was lost. With the help with some friends from work I was briefed enough on the program to kinda get what was going on…but that wasn’t enough.

So one weekend I sat down and watched all of season 1….and my interest turned to an obsession. I haven’t been into a TV show (outside a sitcom) since Star Trek: Enterprise.

I love the show, the nods to other scifi programs (countless Star Trek references…and I counted on Back to the Future reference).

But I digress…

This half-season was overall pretty good. It could have been spectacular, but it had a bumpy start and by the time it got on track…the story was winding down and the strike was looming.

I begining to wonder if some of the plot holes have been left intentionally for “Villans” or maybe they were accidently not completed and now can be.

Too much was left out of Parkman’s story line. Did his wife leave him? He leave her? Did I miss that? He seemed to have shaken off taking four bullets to the chest pretty easily.

You know, Peter sure does forget about his women easily. Once he learned to time travel he coulda saved Simone. And in “Powerless” after he met up with Nathan…Caitlyn didn’t seem to be on the forefront of his mind.

I didn’t like too much where they took Claire. But on the other hand I get it. She’s having to grow up very quickly because of the situations presented before her. Noah has brought The Company into their home…inspite of his efforts to maintain a “normal” life. She’ll probably be the target or one of the targets in “Villans”. Especially if Sylar’s a boss.

Micah….he needs to go to school and let that be that. I haven’t much time for him. Monica needs to get that management job at the fast food place and enjoy Mardi Gras next year.

Hiro needs Ando…..Hiro working alone isn’t interesting.

Adam Monroe was a great character. Flawed yet likeable. We see now why Linderman was the way he was because of Monroe. I hope both of them return somehow in “Villans”.

West……get yourself a prom date in the spring and leave us alone.

Elle…..I adore her. She’s the best new character next to Adam Monroe. You feel bad for her because you see that she wasn’t raised in the loving household Claire was. And then you realize Claire could just have easily ended up like Elle. And you gain more respect for Noah.

Bob……this guy I don’t get. He’s bad, he’s good, he’s in the middle. I have a feeling he’ll need help from the good guys next Chapter. This actor who plays him does a good job and good for him because for years he’s played the nerdy guy in so many shows/movies.

The Haitian…he’ll be back

I’m sure there’s things I’ve overlooked and I’ll have to go back and re-watch the epsidoes to get it all in.

The strike has been bad of course because it has stopped production. But I bet that Tim Kring and crew have been coming up with outstanding ideas in their heads that they can’t wait to get on paper as soon as they get back to work.

chris on December 7, 2007

Elle’s introduction was fantastic. Monica’s is also good, I liked how they took the story to a different area of the country. Many did not like this but I think if she is involved in important things she will be very interesting.

Mel on December 7, 2007

I was enjoying the New Orleans storyline, until Monica goes and gets herself captured. What, she didn’t learn enough Kung Fu? Self-defense? She couldn’t run out of the house on to the friggin’ roof?

Her getting captured was a Worf moment — her skills are either great or they suck, depending on what the plot requires.

Whitney on December 7, 2007

i was bawling when nathan was shot. i wanna kill mama petrelli!!!!! argh!

Garrett on December 7, 2007

This Season turned out to be okay in the end. I was skeptical about the season until The Line where things started to pick up. After The Line the story seemed much more like the first season and there were actual important events happening.

I’m actually okay with the idea of Niki being gone. Her and D.L. were the chores of season 1 like the wonder twins of Volume 2. The only good thing about her character this season was that every 2nd line wasn’t “Micah”. I always found them bland and unintersting.

I’m not so happy with the idea of Nathan leaving the show. This season we saw a real twist on his character, and we weren’t even able to see how finding his brother again affected him. I also think that if they ever needed “team up” our heroes against a great evil, Nathan would have contributed greatly through personality dynamics. At present time he could have been a good leader or some sort of difficult skeptic.

I like that Sylar got his powers back, that seemed a little easy though. But he is a great villain, and someone needs to counter balance peter’s insane strength. I think we’re all pretty sure Adam is not gone for good, which is great because it will develop a pretty interest rivalry between him and Hiro.

It’d be nice to seem them go back to the duo of Hiro and Ando. They added most of the comedic elements of season 1, and there was less of that this season which I think hurt it a bit. Last season it would go from intense drama to Hiro and Ando who would break the tension, and let us relax a bit, and then go back. This year the drama was offset with…more drama, so that made it a little harder to watch.

But overall I still think this was a positive step for all the characters we know and love, well except poor Nathan.

Patrick on December 7, 2007

Favorite Storyline: “Group of Twelve”, and about the past generation of heroes, and how they screwed up.
Favorite [New] Character(s): Monica & Elle
Favorite Episode: Cautionary Tales
Least Favorite Episode: Kindered
Least Favorite [New] Character: Maya
Least Favorite Stroyline: Peter’s flat out, and Hiro in the 17th Century (That was dragged on WAY too long)
Other: Niki was awesome! If she had to die, that was a great way to kill her off. I’d accually be disapointed if she lived, it would sort of cheapen that entire storyline. I think Nathan should just die already, get it overwith! I thought it was cheap the way who like everyone in the finale was shot, but they ALL lived (excusing D.L., since he died later on). I loved the new character of Elle, she had a great evolution with her, from being bad and then changing to good. Nathan getting shot was so dumb. I knew it coming right was he started the speach! If he lives that would be a ripoff! SOMEONE should die already!

Kimern on December 7, 2007

Well, because of that strike, episode 11 sucked.

It was like they rushed through like 5 episodes+ in one episode. Diddent like that:(
I hate you writers!!

Other then that. Season 2 ruuuuled:D

ghjlk on December 7, 2007

uuuhhhhh i wish everyone would just leave west alone, thought claire nd him were adorable 2gether nd he beta cum bk in vol 3!!!! dnt attack me cos of dis every1 has der opinion!!! newaz thought vol 2 was gud but a tiny bit slow….nd not enough of peter!!!it still ROCKS though!! bring on da villains!!!!!!!!!

Punch Peter Petrelli on December 7, 2007

This volume fell WAAAAY short of how good it could have actually been. Too many needless, uninteresting storylines (i.e. heroes 90210, the wonder twins, New Orleans). They should have stuck to thier strenghths and given Sylar, Adam, Elle, Nathan, Parkman, and Noah stronger parts. And, for God’s sake, give Peter a friggin backbone! He’s the only one that can stand up to Sylar, but, as long as he’s a little biotch, he’ll get WHOOPED! All in all, I give vol. 2 a 6.5 out of 10. LONG LIVE SYLAR!!!!

hirofan02 on December 7, 2007

We can’t really blame the show itself, its all the writers strike. But the show did start out kinda slow, and if their gonna have a heroes stand off at the end, it should be a real fight for once.
As for the whole sylar, and wonder twins story. They could have done more with that but oh well.
DL’s death was terrible. And they finally gave his character a purpose. And then they just kill him, thats just stupid.
As for the whole New orleans story, I have to say the build up for it was good, but there was no follow through. They kept metioning that Monica was going to be the first hero to actually dress up and become a”’superhero”. Again, maybe they were going 2, but with the strike they had to cut it short. There are rumors that their going to make her St. Joan in season 3, lets hope so. An actual superhero would be cool.
As for the new villains, very cool. I agree they should keep Elle as a villain or at least she’s on no ones side. Make her neutral. The Adam Monroe story was good. At first i didn’t get why they made Kensei british, but now it makes sense.
With Peter and nathan, They shouldn’t have shot him if he doesn’t die. Keep him on or don’t. make a decision. As for peter, if he starts being more proactive like he was in season 2, then he’ll redeem himself.
As for Sylar, I think he’s got one more season and thats it, make someone new and someone worse. Like another guy who has Peters powers.

hirofan02 on December 7, 2007

With all that, the season was short and a bit disapointing. But at least we get to have a new season soon. With more villains as its rumored. And we get to see all the heroes in a different light and with new perspectives and circunstances.
Oh, as for Claire’s storyline. Its was pretty stupid. But maybe it was a build up for something else, we may never know. Again, i’m just looking forward to volume 3.

hirofan02 on December 7, 2007

I agree, if they wanna kill someone. Then actually kill some one. The only one i’m glad they brought back was HRG. And the only one i’m really disapointed that they actually killed was DL.

hirofan02 on December 7, 2007

I keep taken up space(sorry). But i agree with garrett. There was so much build up that I think we were gonna see some exiting stuff if the show actually did go for a whole season. But with the strike they had to rush. Like whos gonna fight, who do we want to kill off and what can we end it on. The idea of the season was actually better then last season. Its what the end result was that was dissapointing.

klubbkidd on December 7, 2007

It was an okay end but not spectacular. At least this was one episode which moved fast enough.
I’m in Malaysia and I watch everything on the Net, and I’ve met part of the cast and I will continue to be a fan of Heroes into Volume III.
However can someone make sure that
1)Niki AND Jessica stays dead (they bore me)
2)Sylar dies! (neverending baddies are so 80s)
3)Stop killing Nathan.
4)Peter may be the most powerful - but he’s also the most gullible wimp! Have him finished off by Sylar, before Sylar gets his own by being smashed by Matt and a toilet pump (be creative! Amuse us!)
5)Develop Elle and Monica FASTER and get rid of West the flying boyband member.
6)Get Hiro killed off, and get Ando on the show ONLY if he develops powers.
7)Find the most gruesome way for Mohinder to be killed - he’s boring and pointless.
8)Noah Bennet and Bob should bob die too of papercuts!
9)Reveal MORE of what the elders actually have in terms of power. So we know Linderman’s, Maury’s…
We don’t know the late Mr, and also Mrs Petrellis’s or Victoria Pratt’s or Kaito’s…and the rest of the bunch without being draggy.
10)Develop real villains who don’t come across as desperate creatures who get by on chance like Sylar and have them battle it out.

Just some thoughts. I know a lot of people will hate me for asking the charaters above killed off. But I think they’re deadwood in so many ways.
Thank God Niki is dead!Hope the writers keep her that way.

ThaRebeliouZ on December 7, 2007

I agree with most of the points you guys were saying about how season 2 started slowly but the new characters needed to be developed to prepare us for volume 3 “Villians”.

According to Kring on the TV Guide interview, in the same way that the Heroes found each other to save the world, the Villians will do the same for the opposite and he also mentioned we might be surprised by how many are catalogued from The Company.

I liked most of the new characters this season except West. Completely bored to death with this guy.

Alot of people don’t seem to like Maya’s character but her powers have alot of potential specially if she develops her abilities to affect just one person with her “black tear pestilence” as i like to call it instead of just having everyone around her just droppin dead. It might come in handy if there really are legions of Veeeeelaaaaans in Volume 3 and she has to help the rest of the Heroes that way they wont be affected.

Hopefully Monica and Micah can be used more in tandem on missions in the next volume, they got alot of upside.

Elle is a great new addition and i think we’ll see more progression of her storyline in the next installment. I got a feeling her and Claire will be used more in tandem on future episodes.

Also liked Adam Monroe and Sylar, two great villians but we definitely need more, I’m glad that we might get that wish granted on Volume 3.

I see some of you guys seem confused as hell with the sudden deaths of some of the main characters but one thing the writers behind this show do very well is interconnect the stories to build onto something much bigger.

so with that said, I thought ‘Generations’ was decent specially in the last few episodes but not as good as ‘Genesis’. Although I liked the ending in Generations alot better because it left alot of things wide-open to build on.

akemi27 on December 8, 2007

for what it’s worth, season 2 was the exact opposite of season 1 for me…

season 1 was full of surprises and interesting characters that sylar seemed to kill off quickly, while season 2 just didn’t have the same surprise elements - i don’t know if it was editing/ storytelling/ or if it just sucked.

I was really surprised that i didn’t like any of the new characters at all - esp kensei/ adam monroe…i mean, even finding out about the original 12 was cool, but to find out that bob, so far, aside from linderman, seemed to be the only one who possesses a power…

with the writer’s strike and a poor thought out season 2, i don’t know if i’ll be curious enough to see a 3rd chapter

Somebody on December 8, 2007

i want Peter to more clever .

Tarot on December 8, 2007

Volume 2 was quite worthwhile, but I must say Volume 1 was more riveting, and not just due to Volume 1 having my favorite character, Claude. I really hope Nathan survives and I’m hoping like mad Claude will return in Volume 3…4 at the latest.

Zach on December 8, 2007

I had high hopes in the beginning, but I absolutely hated the twins all throughout. I felt that the climax was cheap, and it rushed to finish it all that it did not connect everything, which could have easily been done. It’s so cheap how they can give anyone’s Claire’s blood and then they are brought back to life. They didn’t even show the final confrontation between Adam and Hiro! The entire irish pub thing in the beginning was good, but they just threw it aside. Sure, they tried to keep it in with the whole Katlyn in the future thing, but Peter would have tried to save the world without her there.

Laura on December 8, 2007

I snoozed through this whole season. Talk about uneventful and down right boring! I actually channel surfed through the last episode, something I wouldn’t have thought of last season.

And, why the hell are there so many commercials??? 4 minute session of commercials every 4 minutes of program time.

I may or may not watch next round.

Laura on December 8, 2007

Caitlin is stuck in the future forever, It might be a safe future but still wtf. It didn’t even show Peter saving her or anything.

elizabeth on December 8, 2007

mk so i just finished the season and it makes me sad cause it was like 5 episodes long or however long claire and west should hook up but like why keep sylar alive i think they should keep adam instead stupid writers strike,
but how long was the seasong GOING to be?

Punch Peter Petrelli on December 9, 2007

There is so much potential to build Sylar into a Magneto-esque super villain that they HAVE to keep him around. Plus, Zachary Quinto is easily the best actor on the series. Good comics always have a recurring bada$$ supervillain, and Sylar is definately that for the Heroes franchise. But, again, GIVE PETER SOME CAJONES, PEOPLE!!! He is my favorite POTENTIAL on the show. But, until they give him some substance, he’ll be nothing more than potential. LONG LIVE SYLAR!!!

Cliff Woodman on December 9, 2007

I agree it ended far to quickly !
There were so many tangents and all of a sudden they all had to come back together far to quickly. I loved the start of the season 2 and think if it wasn’t for the writers strike it may have been different. There are some weak characters that need killing off quickly though. I like Sylar, Adam and Hiro they have very strong characters.

psijack on December 9, 2007

I was just wondering what was the limit to Adam’s power?,cause if he tried to kill all the members on the council how did he do it by getting past Matt at the police station without being seen to try and kill Angela?
And I think Nathan will be back cause the blood from Adam is going to help him live again not that I’m saying I want to see him alive again but I would like to see him evolve into something pretty sweet.
And most of all if all the council members are dead except Angela and Matt’s dad what ever happened to Nathan’s and Peter’s dad?

wireless...Dan on December 9, 2007

hmmmm so many ideas here….what can i come up with….

Hiro’s a good character, but i reckon Sylar should even the score for the blade through the chest. Hiro’s easily on the target list.

I was waiting very intently for Sylar to get his powers back. I love that character!!!! Can’t get enough. Get into him more, his powers, development and give him 2-3 more, one of which should be VERY significant!!!!

Yeah, bring back Claude!!! He was great as Peter’s mentor…Peter should convince him to become an anti-company agent and have him and HRG meet up again over gunshots and cocktails!!!

They should revive Nathan, killing him this early is a big mistake. Adrian Pasdar is a great actor, and the bond and depth of the Petrelli brother’s relationship is great to watch. Claire will be the one to revive him…Peter will use Clairvoyance to track Claire and will fly Nathan there.

Elle as a Hero as opposed to a villain will be cool…She needs a man though…PLEASE DO NOT GET HER AND MOHINDER IN A RELATIONSHIP, but if it happens…we all know who will be wearing the pants!

Mohinder’s annoying me and many others as well. Sure he’s the narrator, but I reckon he should die…Sylar would kill him, but only after he’s given Mohinder a lot of pain beforehand!!!

Ando should develop a power…I love his humor!!! Sure, the actor’s a Korean and his Japanese is terrible, but yeah, I think he should have the power to sense when Hiro’s in trouble!! ahhaha

Peter’s a powerhouse now!!! It’s undeniable. He should go and explore his new powers a bit more…like to some kind of sanctuary after he saves Nathan. Then, he should come back at least 3x more powerful than before, and with more wits and a spine too…

Adam, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!!! He’s a wicked villain!!! Been around for 400 yrs and counting!!! Somehow, sometime, he’ll escape, but it won’t be without help…no forecast as to how it’s gonna happen, but it will…David Anders is an impressive actor.

Matt’s wicked. One of the most powerful!!! He’s got a very piggyback like relationship with Nathan!! hahaha!!! He must be like “Damn, how do I get back, my ride’s near death!!!” Love it how it’s the fit guy flying the chubby guy around. Greg Grunberg’s a great actor, and nothing wrong with his appearance, as long as he’s happy with it…His ability has almost infinite potential. Can he manipulate animals as well as people??? Starts with Mind-Reading, then Thought Manipulation then Thought Creation??? Maury was right, Telepathy can become so much more. For those of you who are uncertain, look up Telepathy on Heroeswiki or Wikipedia.

Ok, I wasn’t fond of the New Orleans storyline. Micah’s little punk cousin should develop a power and Sylar should kill him for it. Micah’s power is growing a fair bit. Monica’s gonna replace Niki as Micah’s “mother figure”. Nikki/Jessica escaping the fire??? I’ll wait and see what happens…no predictions here…

The old guard? Vol 2 was titled Generations, but we only found out Adam’s power? Unacceptable, tell us Angela Petrelli’s power and the powers of the old guard. However I understand their not doing so, because showing us such things would limit the usage options for those characters in the future and its not a light decision to arrive at.

I agree. Take your time with Volume 3, and we’ll eagerly wait for it. As long as it’s above average viewing and well thought out and developed, that’s good enough…

Sylar for president!!!!!

Rosely on December 9, 2007

When will you have a Season 2 marathon?

shawn on December 9, 2007

I think with the fact that Claire’s blood can bring people back, that the two major deaths at the end of Season 2 really means absolutely nothing. They probably will be back at some point. And who knows, maybe they will even bring back Ted(Geico Caveman) Sprague, Sylar’s mom, the goofy painter and his girlfriend, Linderman, Hiro’s father and his waitress girlfriend from season 1.

Season Finale felt rushed and condensed…probably because it was. Really don’t like what I’m see’in with Micahs family. If the writers intend on him being an orphan then they can just stay on strike.

Ando, “There are guards up there. Won’t they be waiting for us, WITH GUNS?”

LOL

i think season 2 was good but not as good as season 1. i liked adam and elle, even the twins a bit. monica was a waste of time it was almost like they made her so they would have a way to kill nikki. as to who shot nathan i would have to say it was someone new. hrg being the killer seems to obvious

Nathan on December 9, 2007

I must say I agree mostly with what everyone has said with a few exceptions/additions. For example. I don’t think the New Orleans track is a bad one as long as it ties in to the whole story in the long run, or develop a more intricate sub-storyline and use it to bring in action when the other storyline runs low. And secondly, what’s the deal with matt’s dad? At the end of season 1 when Molly said described the ‘nightmare man’ as being worse than sylar and this is all we get from him? with a power like his, he has the potential to be a really freaky psychotic super-villan type character. You could have intricate alternative realities people get sucked into… …I don’t know… …think old-school comic type stuff. Bring him back, but spruce him into something more of a monster rather than just a selfish old man. That’s what I really wanted to see worked up. Someone who’s going to reek serious havok on society and those who oppose him. What a potential enemy you have.

Nathan on December 9, 2007

one more thought. maybe next year, if more and more heroes, villains, and those in between arrise, you could do a civil war type thing. Just think the potential for building a plot line like that up (keep those in it for story involved) and the action that would take place (keep those in it for fight sequences involved) and it could be like a war has moved on to US soil involving those with powers and threatening those without. Could Be sweet.

Heroes is still excellent this year. Hope the strike doesn’t hold it off till next season to continue.

peter brought girl to future and went back to the past. he then changed the future by saving the world. wouldn’t that have killed his irish GF?

Mac on December 10, 2007

I thought the total opposite! I thought season 1 was a poor season and that season 2 started to get some meaning behind it. Maybe season 1 did have surprises and different types of stories, but they have done this season with some real fresh and new approaches that kept me interested and keen to see the next eps.

Does anyone remember in Season 1 when peter had a scar right down his face? and hiro was a serious looking ninja dude? anyone think thats going to come to light?

in this season i think the sylar story was weak…. I dont like the way he got his powers back..

Peter’s story was good and im starting to really like his character more and more… Finding out about his mom and how she was in the past was crazy… I really liked that..

Nathan is GANGSTER! Dont die…..

Hiro and his travels was the best story for me… i was shocked when i saw him killing hiro’s dad… Imagine what when through his mind when that happened. wow…. and i burying him ALIVE was GENIUS!!!! Let Adam stay alive……..6 feet deep! YES

well there is more i want to say but i wont bore you all…..

lol

when is season 3??

Neil on December 10, 2007

I think Claire and West must be related. Let me see
West can fly, Nathan can fly
Claire can heal, Adam can heal
Nathan is Claire’s father
Hope they find out before this relationship goes any further

Hmmmm…..

Other than that I was only on this site to see when the finale would air. I was not aware that WAS the finale. I was very unimpressed. Started too slow ended too fast.

Also, when Hiro was helping Takensei, why didn’t he stop time, stab all 400 soldiers, then restart time?!?! Seems like it would have been easier. Also, why not just carry Adam out of the tent rather than allowing him to choose?!?! Seems like a lot of runaround for the lack of thinking.

I think this season, although it is my favorite show, lacked a lot of character development and allowed the characters very little lattitude considerign they have had time to grow accustomed to their powers.

Dee on December 10, 2007

Its always annoying when there is a break to a great story so its only human nature that critise season 2 so far. I do agree, it was a slow start but i think it had a lot to fill in and temp us with to really ramp up for an amazing second half.

There’s so many theories about whats going to happen next and what leave me contented is the fact there an endless storyline…lets hope it never loses its way.

Few things i would love someone to explain or maybe just comments on:

1. Mohinder - now he’s annoying but there something quite niggling about him that i can seem to work out. Does he have a power? I personally think he does but cant put my figer on it. It came about in season one when he went pretty much went back in time in his “dreams” to see himself in the past (and spy on a converstion between his parents). NOw, this led me to think…have we ever seen him sleep or rest? I think his power lies somewhere there along with the ability to go back in time.

I’d welcome some comments on this!!!

2. The comics! - now, there are so many of thses in circulation, as people were ordering them from Issac in Season 1. I honestly belive these are going to be the key to any storyline and where more storylines will be borne. The future is clearly writen but as we know, can be changed!!

Any further comments??

ok..thats enough from me…look forward to peoples comments

Volume 2 was wrecked becuz of the strike. This volume was called “Generations”, yet we really never got 2 learn the powers of the group of twelve, or really the gist of what they did

yes, monicas storyline was pointless, but if they kill her off, whats gonna happen to micah. Micah’s power has to evolve into something much more powerful, and i hope it does. I dont care if niki dies, she didnt do anything, cool that jessica mite come back. Hated DLs death, it’d be cool to c him faze thru his grave

Maya and Alejandro was a waste of airtime, and without alejandro, maya crying evry other ep cud get just a lil annoying. Sylar wasnt near as good this season, shud be great 4 season 3 tho

I didnt like Peter’s whole, who am i…where am i…i live in new york? That was annoying, and not bringing caitlin back stunk 2, he just seems so clueless, like “Wow, Adam is bad, Whoops”

Claire and West was boring up til the end of the season, HRG was just wierd….Mohinder was also kinda dum with how ppl cud control him so easily….Bob was my favorite addition, hes a very grey character i’d want 2 figure out, Elle was OK, liked her wen she got sylar away…Matt was the best storyline by far beating his dad, and takin care of molly

Nathan better not die, hated how angela didnt even care. But shudnt peter realize, ‘adam used his power to save nathan, y cant i’

Hope haitian comes back next season, he rox

I LOVE HEROES

Wannabe Hero on December 11, 2007

Season 2 left me confused because for once now, we have Caitlin stuck in a future that does not exist anymore. How do you bring her back?

I am also curious what happens when Sylar learns how to time travel. Seems like Hiro and him will just have to keep travelling backwards or forwards in time to kill each other and it will be never ending.

But overall I still like the additions of the new characters and I think this gives Heroes more leverage to involve people from many other parts of the world, and most importanly infusing the powerful concept of family and unconditional love

Time Traveller on December 11, 2007

The best concept that came out of Volume two is the concept of the circularity of time. It is brilliant!

You see in Season 1, Hiro keeps talking about his hero, Takeshi Kensei and the wonderful love stories. Little did he know that this was his own doing in the future. And embedded in it was a beautiful love story of how the swordsmith’s daughter wrote brilliant love stories for the child Hiro when he was growing up.

The message for me in Volume 2 is that even if one can time travel, one cannot change fate that has been written

peoplewhodontlikeheroesarecrazy678 on December 11, 2007

yes, i agree with most everyone above: heroes, season 2 (volume 2) was indeed very short, and that’s because of the writers strike. it was also to slow at the beginning and two fast at the end (again, the writers strike). but all in all, i think they the producers/ filmers/ directors/ whoever helped do this volume did nothing wrong. everything in this season was so good that i am so sad that its over until next year! i personally think they should have gone with their original filming of the final episode of volume 2 (Peter does NOT catch the virus and it gets loose). that would have been extremely intense for the third volume.

The only thing that i find fairly troublsome is the fact that both Nathan AND Niki died (presumably). they cant die!!! they are way, way, WAY to important to the show! sure, Niki didnt really play a big role in volume 2, nor in volume 1, but still, she could be used in future episodes as the defender of the earth or whatever the writers intend to do with the character. Nathan cant be dead because he’s the freakin brother of Peter and the father of Claire (Claire by the way is smoking hot!). if they kill off his character, then Peter wont really have any insentive to fight for the earth because his brother was so suddenly taken from him, and Claire never really liked him in the first place so that’s no big deal with her.

D.L.’s death was, as many other people have probably said, totally lame. for someone who can phase through anything, getting shot wouldnt really effect him, you know? let alone cause him to die. D.L. was a really cool character, and i was actually pretty mad that the writers just decided to kill him off so carelessly and as if he was some sort of piece of trash. he should have had a heroic death, or not even have died!

Heroes For EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

ffflllllaaaavvvaaa!!!! on December 12, 2007

every episode of volume 2 was good…but towards the end it felt like the last few episodes was rushed especially the last episode…
n by shorting volume 2…does that mean the episodes for the season 2 dvd will be short

robyn on December 12, 2007

Yea ok this volume was awesome, its the best show i’ve ever watched I can’t believe its over till next year. A lot of the stuff was everwhere and hard to understand at sometimes probably because it was to slow and the start and to fast at the end. But overall it was really good.

Mathsorcerer on December 13, 2007

Season 2 suffered from trying to follow too many plotlines in not enough time due to the writer’s strike. Although I like the show and the way it had to be handled was a little sloppy, the writers should have gone on strike and should continue to be on strike until the studio moguls give in. Anyway….

Maya and Alejandro were two characters with a really good background and an interesting set of powers. Their story should have waited until Chapter 3 in order to do them justice.

Monica’s story was actually pretty good–hometown girl gets a great power and tries to put it to good use. Give her a break, people, and let her find her combat nerves. Once she does, mere thugs with guns won’t be a problem for her anymore–she will be able to react without fear.

Matt. I have always liked Matt because he was an underdog, having only telereceive. Now, though, he is someone with whom you do not want to cross swords. He needs to quit worrying about being a detective, though, and get a *real* goal. With his new powers of telesend, command, and nightmare projection he would be able to do pretty much as he pleases. He does realize that Maury, his father, will escape the nightmare scenario at some point, right?

Whoever thought up the entire “virus that takes away someone’s abilities” plotline should be fired. That was a particularly pathetic storyline.

Claire and West…I’m not even going to comment on them because I won’t have anything nice to say.

Hiro and Takezo’s storyline might have run a little long, but sometimes a good story takes a long time to tell. It worked out, though…at least for Hiro.

Tika on December 13, 2007

I dont know why but i like this season except the useless things like maya and alejandro… when they come at begininng i thought they will be SOMETHING… but they made me dissapoint

1. One thing… ELLE must be back
2. LOVE is a greatest cause trouble and greatest resolver
3. I still miss chemistry between Milo and Hayden.. West and Peter’s GF ( I even didnt remember her name) is useless… they have to stop in season 3 *i dont want West back*
4. Actually i still love Mohinder ^^
5. I miss Ando like in season 1… no more laughing in season 2 excpet when Hiro say… “Flying Man” to Nathan at last episode… ^^
6. And Yes.. I cant wait for season 3…

firefly on December 14, 2007

Volume 2 was good ! Not as good as the first but it was okay ! I like the addition of Elle and Adam in that volume, but not so much for the twins . I really wish Nathan lives, he is too important !!
As for Peter, i’m still waiting for the moment he’ll become a “HERO” ! He still relies too much on his brother ! And he is too easily manipulated !And Apparently, he is “the only one” that can stop Sylar…but all he did in Season 1 is punch him once ! We need a good fight…if the series is called “Heroes”, its not for nothing !
