Season 2 Storylines; a Change in the DVD Release Date?
By Sam | May 11, 2007 (3:04 pm) | More: Cast: Greg Grunberg (as Matt Parkman), Heroes Episode Spoilers, Heroes Season 1 Spoilers/News, Heroes TV Show News, Heroes on DVD
Greg Grunberg, aka mindreading cop Matt Parkman, recently went on the radio show Lovelines and spilled some secrets (via Media Village) about the upcoming second season of Heroes, potential storylines, and what is very good news about the Heroes DVD: according to Grunberg, the first season of Heroes will be out on DVD just a few weeks after the last episode airs. Of course this is different than the August 28th 2007 release date I posted here. As in, over three months sooner than we were told. Does Greg have the inside track? One assumes so. But wait, what about the Season 1 finale and those Season 2 storylines?
Here’s an interesting one about Claire:
One main plot turn will see the cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere) having to choose between “someone she loves and saving thousands of lives.”
Uh oh. Is HRG or Peter on the chopping block? I’m gonna go with HRG. Then again, the “love one” could be her other father, Nathan.
About upcoming storylines in Season 2, which as everyone knows by now will be called “Generations”:
The plotlines will go back in time to tell the stories of the parents of each “hero” and how they came by their extraordinary powers.
Not a fan of this, I have to say. I hope they don’t do flashbacks every other episode. I want the show to progress, not regress. Finding out where they came from is fine, but I don’t want to spend too much time there.
And what about Matt Parkman’s dark future? As you’ll recall in “Five Years Gone” Matt Parkman went from lovable goof to Homeland Security stormtrooper badass.
“We’ll find out why that happens. There’s an event that changes everything for him,” said the actor.
So there you go. The full article can be found here.
I don’t know about you, but the DVD release date is what intrigues me the most and has me grinning. If it’s true that they’re going to release the entire season 1 on DVD just weeks after the May 21st episode, then it’s going to sell like hotcakes. But will they? And what about that August 28th release date? We’ll just have to wait and see.
(Thanks to Liz for the heads up)

“Whose the goofball now, punk?”

Thanks for the update guys!! It’s good to see that we’ll see what makes Matt the badass he is in the future. It’s gotta be something pretty dramatic, even for a loveable fellow like Parkman.
As for HRG, I really hope he’s a character that sticks around for Season 2. He’s a super smart guy, and as we have all seen, a good guy deep down as well.

Indian girl on 22 March 2008:
okay , iam confused in which parts r they talking about season 1 and season2. Also the season1 DVD came out LAST YEAR, we already know it came out on aug. 28. Heck, i have the DVD. So, what is this article/piece talking about. One more thing, everybody is asking the same question: WHEN DOES THE SEASON 2 DVD COME OUT? But nobody knows. So there is really no point in posting the same thing over and over again until somebody does know. My theroery is this: I THINk ORIGINALLY THEY WERE PLANNING ON HAVING BOTH SEASON2 AND 3 ON ONE DVD, SO I’M THINKING THEY R GOING TO WAIT UNTIL SEASON 3 IS DONE AND THEN RELEASE THE DVD WITH BOTH SEASONS ON IT. THEN AGAIN MY THEORY. Wow, that’s aa lot of writing.
moo on 25 March 2008:
season 2 hasnt even finished yet, if you had been paying attention, the last episode that aired showed “villans” volume was supposed to start the episode after, but shortly after, the writers strike started. nice theory indian, but its not right, season 2 isnt even done yet =\
Future on 28 March 2008:
I got Season 2 so what are you all talking about. if you know the right persons you get the stuff first. It’s realy cool so enjoy waiting for Season 2
Peter carson on 28 March 2008:

jojojo on 15 April 2008:
what date is season 2 released in uk?
anyone whose seen other high profile shows knows
they tend to drop off in quality ie lost- lost me
4400 was 4399 + 10 know sense, and that jail thing
had me locked up mentally, ie is season 2 as googd as 1.
indian girl on 17 April 2008:
to moo: the writers strike started before the last episaode aired. The next volume is villains which is season 3 because season2 is done with because they don’t have time to finish season 2 before summer. Sorry to argue with u.
indian girl on 17 April 2008:
to Future: where did u get season 2 dvd?
BECKY! on 17 April 2008:
yeah For REAL I want Season 2! I copied most of it when it came on TV… but my times got out of whack and some of them are missing the stupid ENDINGS! lol
BECKY! on 17 April 2008:
MUAH!
Jesse on 22 April 2008:
Season 2 was going to comprise 2 “Volumes.” As Season 1 ended we saw the lead in of “Vol 2 - Generations” That was played out on the aired episodes of season 2. The had 2 or 3 more episodes filmed for “Vol 3, Villians” but decided not to air them until they could complete filming that story arc.
So SEASON 2 consisted of Vol 2 Generations, and at least the first part of Vol 3 Villians. Who knows what they are going to do with the DVD. It looks like Vol 3 is getting pushed to be the start of season 3. Which means season 2, like so many other shows this year, is getting the shaft on episode count.
I just hope the story makes up for it in Vol 3.

Well this is posted on wikipidia:
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that seasons 1 and 2 will be released on Blu-Ray on August 26, 2008, the same date as the DVD release of season 2. Specifications and bonus features have not yet been confirmed.[96]

KariIN on 3 May 2008:
Moo-sorry to tell YOU that S02 DID end, if YOU had been paying attention you would have known about that. I.E. the writers strike screwed everything up/the Heroes spinoff-Origins. Which I’m sure would have cleared a lot of things up for us TRUE Heroes fans! But Indian Girl, you’re right: I dont know why they posted “FIND OUT HEROES S02 DVD RELEASE DATE” if they are not truly answering that question. Thanks for NADA!
