Season 2 Storylines; a Change in the DVD Release Date?

Greg Grunberg, aka mindreading cop Matt Parkman, recently went on the radio show Lovelines and spilled some secrets (via Media Village) about the upcoming second season of Heroes, potential storylines, and what is very good news about the Heroes DVD: according to Grunberg, the first season of Heroes will be out on DVD just a few weeks after the last episode airs. Of course this is different than the August 28th 2007 release date I posted here. As in, over three months sooner than we were told. Does Greg have the inside track? One assumes so. But wait, what about the Season 1 finale and those Season 2 storylines?

Here’s an interesting one about Claire:

One main plot turn will see the cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere) having to choose between “someone she loves and saving thousands of lives.”

Uh oh. Is HRG or Peter on the chopping block? I’m gonna go with HRG. Then again, the “love one” could be her other father, Nathan.

About upcoming storylines in Season 2, which as everyone knows by now will be called “Generations”:

The plotlines will go back in time to tell the stories of the parents of each “hero” and how they came by their extraordinary powers.

Not a fan of this, I have to say. I hope they don’t do flashbacks every other episode. I want the show to progress, not regress. Finding out where they came from is fine, but I don’t want to spend too much time there.

And what about Matt Parkman’s dark future? As you’ll recall in “Five Years Gone” Matt Parkman went from lovable goof to Homeland Security stormtrooper badass.

“We’ll find out why that happens. There’s an event that changes everything for him,” said the actor.

So there you go. The full article can be found here.

I don’t know about you, but the DVD release date is what intrigues me the most and has me grinning. If it’s true that they’re going to release the entire season 1 on DVD just weeks after the May 21st episode, then it’s going to sell like hotcakes. But will they? And what about that August 28th release date? We’ll just have to wait and see.

(Thanks to Liz for the heads up)
