Roundup: Hayden at Big Apple Con, James Kyson Lee at Scream 2007, Jimmy Jean-Louis to the Rescue

Via the site Watching Heroes, Heroes star Hayden Panettiere and comic book artist Tim Sale, the real brush behind the late-Isaac Mendez’s paintings, will be greeting sci-fi fans at the Big Apple Con in New York, which runs November 16th to November 18th. Hayden’s scheduled appearance is on Saturday (November 17th) and Sunday (18th), although what time she’ll be showing up isn’t know yet.

The convention runs from Friday November 16 through Sunday, November 18. Times are 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday and 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Sunday.

The convention will take place at Penn Plaza Pavilion located at 401 Seventh Avenue at 33rd St. This is directly across the street from Madison Square Garden, so it shouldn’t be hard to find! Admission $20 at the door but you can order advance tickets from the Big Apple Con website for $18. They are looking for volunteers to work the convention. James Kyson Lee (Ando) is one of the celebrities who will be making appearances at SpikeTV’s upcoming 2007 Scream Awards.

Spike TV is putting on the biggest televised celebration ever of horror, sci-fi, fantasy and comic books under one roof and promises to be a night to remember. “SCREAM 2007,” taping on October 19 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, premieres on Spike TV Tuesday, October 23 (10:00 PM-Midnight, ET/PT) and will be seen and heard by an estimated one billion people spanning 130 countries and territories.

Jimmy Jean-Louis to the rescue!

This is simultaneously the funniest and silliest thing I’ve ever seen. It’s a video of Jimmy Jean-Louis (aka The Haitian) rescuing a poor model after she falls through the hole in a fashion runway. Wait, you’re wondering, what’s a hole doing in a fashion runway? Well, before the models came out, they had these Shaolin guys doing their thing, and one of the Shaolin guys flips himself on the runway and craters the runway! So the next thing you know, the models are doing their thing, including Jimmy Jean-Louis, when one of the female models, being the airheads that we always knew most female models are, goes right through the hole! You have to see it to believe it.
