News Corp. and NBC to Create YouTube Killer
Personally I don’t know why anyone would want to “kill” YouTube, but then again, I’m not a businessman. YouTube is probably one of the best inventions the Internet has ever created. But apparently News Corp. and NBC are tired of people posting clips and whole episodes of their shows and movies on the popular file-sharing portal, because they’ve now joined forces to create what people are terming a “YouTube killer” — that is, they’re going to copy YouTube and try to put it out of business. To accomplish that, they’ll be putting up whole episodes of their shows, “Heroes”, “24″ and “My Name Is Earl” for free.
Which is good news for those of you who can’t access the episodes on NBC’s site because of where you live (mostly foreign territories), as there probably (though I don’t know for sure) be similar restrictions if the files are hosted on this YouTube killer.
