New Season 3 Promo: Hiro vs. Daphne

By Sam | August 11, 2008 (10:51 am)

While watching NBC’s Olympics coverage over the weekend, I saw this new spot by NBC for the upcoming Heroes Season 3. It features a quick 20-second confrontation between Hiro and Daphne, who has just stolen something important from Hiro and disappeared at blazing speed out of the building. Unfortunately for her, Hiro can slow down time; but unfortunately for Hiro, slowing down time just means Daphne is now moving at normal speed, and isn’t frozen. Check out their first confrontation from the pilot episode, “The Second Coming”.

The “wake” that Daphne leaves behind is well envisioned, I think. Not sure how they’ll make her move fast — just a blur, followed by papers blowing in the breeze?

(Note: The video quality isn’t the best. I’ll try to find a better version. Thanks to everyone who sent me an email about the new vid.)

It’s really starting to bug me that they say Daphne can still move when he freezes time. I’m just hoping someone clears it up and says he was slowing down time and not freezing it or it makes no sense.

You see when Hiro “stops” time he still can see,you know stuff, seiing is a cuality that depends on light reflecting in objets so whe he stops time, ligh is still moving at 300 000 Km/s, as is state by Einstein Teory, therefore if she can “move” at that velocity, probably she wont be afect by the time continum rules, in the same maner as other stuff, and in this way she can “move” when hiro stops time, did i make sence? ahh i forgot to say that it is a TV show, ha ha ha.

If time was completely frozen, Hiro wouldn’t be able to move; the air around him wouldn’t be able to shift if time was frozen, so he’s just slowing down time ALOT. Remember back to “Godsend” when Hiro slowed down time when his power was weaker?

And why did she look frozen at the beginning, why did she stop (if only briefly) if her powers cancel his out?

I hate it, it’s ruined them saying he can ‘freeze time’. Unless they say differently they’ve just altered his power as far as I’m concerned.

I know he slowed time down before but that was his power not working properly (so he couldn’t stop it completely), using the term ’stopping time’ was either inaccurate and they lied or they’ve changed his power. Whether air wouldn’t move or whatever doesn’t really matter, it’s hardly based on reality is it (if it was it wouldn’t be called Heroes, it’d be ‘characters aspiring to be what they never can be’).

It may just be semantics but it bothers me. I know they want to give Hiro a nemesis but Adam was perfectly one, he’ll get out eventually.
