New Poll: New Site Design

You may or may not have noticed (you’d have to be kinda, well, blind not to notice) but I’ve changed the design of the front page. So of course I now want to know what you guys think. I haven’t finished everything yet, but it’s close. I think it’s close, anyway. I could end up changing it all back, but for now, I kind of like the way the site looks now. But what do you think? Like? Dislike? Indifferent? Let me know by voting in the sidebar poll!

What do YOU think?

I really like the new design over the previous one. However there is a lot of columns to select from; the ones I think are important (Heroes Poll, Categories & Search) It’s good to have a lot of navigation options but if they’re all stuck on the main page it’s overwhelming. If you could loose one of the right columns would be great.

One last suggestion, at the time of my comment it says “How do you stop an exploding man?”, you could use a script to cycle different messages randomly when someone loads the page.

Last word; funny how Simone is discreetly removed from the main cast picture on top.

I was thinking about using the masthead messages to follow along with the show. Say, in the beginning it would be, “Save the Cheerleader, Save the World”, and then it would be, “Someone Flies, Someone Dies”, and now, “How do you stop an exploding man”. It’s not an official show mantra, but I thought it was appropriate to THIS part of the show, etc. Anyways that’s what I was thinking when I did that.

I don’t like how the light blue on the right side stops part way down the page. It’s especially awkward since everything else seems to be connected to each other. And it’s a little weird that that is twice as wide as the left sidebar.

Also, I have a pretty small laptop screen. I never have my browser window at full screen, because I like to keep track of things going on in the background, so the new design requires a lot of horizontal scrolling. I didn’t even notice the 2nd row on the right at first. That’s less of a design flaw and more my problem if I’m not going to make use fof my entire screen. But I also don’t want to change my personal preferences just so that one website looks better. And there may be other people who frequent the site who do the same thing.

i thot that the bars on the right could be smaller, because now, the headline news does not really capture my attention.
