NBC Backs Heroes, New Fugitives Episode Titles
There was obviously never any danger of NBC pulling the plug on Heroes before the end of its Season 3 run, although there seems to be enough rumblings out there about such a possibility that NBC’s president of primetime entertainment Angela Bromstad was asked about the show’s near future in a recent pow-wow with the press. Bromstad replied that the show was “very secure”, and would indeed finish off its Season 3 run. There were no similar assurances given to Season 4, though, which can be interpreted as a tad worrisome.
Via The Hollywood Reporter, here’s more of what Bromstad said:
“‘Heroes’ is very secure,” she says. “We have a great relationship with Tim Kring … what’s important is we never lose sight of being responsible in production. And television is about the characters and the writing, and we want to make sure that that show is on track. But very secure. I think that what Tim is interested in doing is getting back to the core of the show and that it’s these ordinary people with extraordinary powers and that they may have taken on too much in terms of characters and multiple storylines.”
Obviously the best bet here to guarantee a Heroes Season 4 is for the ratings to improve as the show nears its Season 3 finale. Given the price tag of each Heroes episode, there is a chance the show may become unprofitable if the ratings continue to nose dive. On the bright side, Lost’s own Season 3 came under heavy criticism and flagging ratings, but the show has since bounced back in both departments, so there’s no reason to believe Heroes can’t do likewise.
Meanwhile, the site End of Show has unearthed new episode titles for the upcoming Fugitives volume, including some that we haven’t heard of before. The first episode back from Winter Hiatus, 3.14, we already know will be called “A Clear and Present Danger”, but here are the rest:
3.14: A Clear and Present Danger
3.15: Truth and Blood
3.16: Building 26
3.17: Cold Wars
3.18: Exposed
3.19: Shades of Gray
3.20: Cold Snap
3.21: Into Asylum
That just leaves the final 4 episodes of Season 3 without titles.
