More on Season 4’s The Carnival, Latest Addition Dawn Olivieri
We’ve heard a lot about Heroes Season 4’s latest bad guys, The Carnival, but we don’t really know a whole lot about them besides the fact that they will be giving the new version of The Company, led by Angela and HRG, a run for their money when it comes to finding people with abilities. The show apparently has very big things planned for them, if their scheduled appearances at the ‘09 Comic Con are any indication. Word is, new castmembers Robert Knepper, Ray Park, and Dawn Olivieri will be representing the sinister sounding Carnival at the big shindig later this month along with producer Tim Kring. So what do we know about them?
We already know that Robert Knepper (formerly of Prison Break and the movies “Hitman” and “Transporter 3″) will be bringing his trademark villainous smile to the role of the Carnival’s leader, Samuel; we also know that Ray Park (”Star Wars: The Phantom Menace”, “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra) will play a deadly member of said organization. Now we can add actress Dawn Olivieri (Stargate: Atlantis) to Season 4’s cast as another member of The Carnival. She will be playing the role of Lydia, described as the “beautiful, charming, soul of the Sullivan Brothers Carnival”.
More about the Sullivan Brothers Carnival and Lydia from IGN, who got it from writer/producer Adam Armus himself:
“Lydia is the beautiful, charming, soul of the Sullivan Brothers Carnival. This carnival is a roving band of people blessed with special abilities. They are powerful, but they hide in the shadows, performing on the outskirts of towns and cities. But all of that is about to change.
Lydia has been part of this carnival for a number of years. She is the exotic tattoo lady, but she is also a powerful empath of sorts. She has the ability to ’sense’ the images on her body and provide valuable information about them. This ability is of great value to Samuel (Robert Knepper), the leader of the carnival. He uses Lydia’s ability to locate other ’specials’ in the world and uses the information she provides to woo them to his side.
Lydia is compassionate towards Samuel. She understands the grief that has fueled his ambition. But will she support his ultimate destructive goals? Will she be loyal or does Lydia have her own agenda?”
Actually, the description above doesn’t really make the Carnival sound all that menacing. Then again, they did hire Robert Knepper for the role of Samuel, so that’s kind of a clue that Samuel may have more in store for people with abilities than just joining his circus…
