More Heroes Season 4 Hints and Storylines

At this point, with Heroes Season 3 having wrapped, everyone is talking about what’s in store for Heroes Season 4, so you’ll probably get a lot of posts like this one in the coming months about who will still be on Heroes, who will be gone, and what is going to happen with them. Here’s the latest rundown of news, quotes, and insider dish on the upcoming season that have been percolating across the Interwebs on the subject of Heroes Season 4.

First up, Michael Ausiello over at EW answers the question on a lot of people’s minds: will Zachary Quinto be back for Season 4, now that he’s been, er co-opted by Nathan? He also has something on Tracy Strauss’ return (and yes, it appears it is Tracy, not one of her clones/sisters/etc).

Question: The Heroes finale made it seem like Zachary Quinto might not be back next season. What’s the deal? –Antonio

Ausiello: Zachary Quinto will without question be back next season. But I hear the show is also planning to introduce a cool and mysterious new villain. And, let’s face it, it’s time.

Question: You were right: The Heroes finale was fantastic. Any scoop on season 4? –Eric

Ausiello: Tracy’s whole revenge arc will serve as a centerpiece of next fall’s “Redemption” volume.

The answer to the second question sure makes it seem like Tracy is NOT the “mysterious new villain” that’s been hinted at …

Over at TV Guide, Adrian Pasdar reiterates that Zachary Quinto is not leaving the show anytime soon. He also teases an intense battle for control of Sylar/Nathan’s body in the coming season.

“Zach’s not done,” Adrian Pasdar tells TVGuide.com. “There’s Nathan, there’s Sylar, and there’s the point of view that you have to factor in. If I look up into the mirror, who would I see?”

Naturally, the twist sets up an epic internal battle between Nathan and Sylar in Season 4. “Who’s going to be able to control the actions of the body?” Pasdar teases. “Like one of those computers that self-teaches, the longer he stays in my body and the longer he assimilates my physical structure and DNA, the more control I get. So it becomes a battle of who’s in charge.”

In the same TV Guide article, Greg Grunberg also dishes on what’s in store for his Matt Parkman:

“You’ve got an alliance right now with the three of us, but Angela Petrelli is not to be trusted. And you don’t want to get on her bad side,” Grunberg says. “I did what they asked me to do, and now they’re going to ask me to do more and get in deeper. It’s going to be a spiral that is going to tear my character up. It leads me to believe that next season is just going to be awesome.

Only Parkman knows truly how to control [Sylar], so it would be cool if I could unleash him,” he says. “I could tell HRG and Angela everything is OK, meanwhile I unleash the monster. I don’t know why I would do it, but maybe if I get pushed to the point where I just can’t take it any more, I let the monster out.”

I still wish they had killed off Nathan without resorting to the body-switching gag. Really, can anyone die for real on this show? Even when you’re dead, you’re not REALLY dead. Except, of course, characters we really like, like Adam Monroe and Daphne Millbrook. Oh sure, they have no trouble killing those guys off for good. But I digress.
