Meet the New Heroes of Season 2
USA Today has done a pretty good breakdown of the new Heroes that will be showing up in Season 2. Head on below to see the new faces and what we should expect from them. It’s nothing you haven’t read here already, but just in case you still aren’t clear who the new faces are, and the people who will be playing them, this should help make it clearer. (I have added my own notes to the breakdown.)

Maya Herrera (played by Dania Ramirez) and her twin brother, Alejandro (Shalim Ortiz), make their debut Monday, trying to go through Mexico to the USA to get help with their deadly abilities. *Ramirez has revealed that because the siblings are also twins, that they share a very strong connection, power-wise. The two characters are also Dominicans, and according to various reports, will be running across the deadly Sylar very soon.
Takezo Kensei (David Anders) is the historical hero of time-and-space traveler Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka). After teleporting back 400 years to feudal Japan, Hiro meets Kensei Monday but is surprised by his appearance and behavior: “English, a bit of a drunk, a bit of a lout, a bit of a rake,” Anders says. *Hiro will end up doing a Back to the Future — that is, help Kensei to fulfill his own history, which apparently includes helping Kensei to realize his own heroic potential.
Monica Dawson (Dana Davis) lives in post-Katrina New Orleans, where she wants to use her new power to help people in need. Nichelle Nichols of Star Trek plays her grandmother, Nana. Monica, who first appears in Episode 4, is connected to Micah Sanders (Noah Gray-Cabey), her cousin. *Micah is sent to New Orleans to live with Monica and Nana, while Niki is tempted by the OWI to join their ranks. Monica’s power? The ability to replicate any move/action she sees on the spot.
Elle (Kristen Bell) is a sexy, mysterious woman with ties to Peter’s apparent death and to the past and future, respectively, of H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) and Claire (Hayden Panettiere), who are trying to live inconspicuously in Southern California. Elle starts her story arc in the fifth episode. *According to interviews, Elle’s appearance will be tied to a criminal activity, and knowing how much Tim Kring and company have hyped Elle’s entry into the series, it should be something with major bang.
