Is Zachary Quinto the Villain Sylar?
The most popular question among “Heroes” fans isn’t just who Sylar is and what he wants, but also who is the actor that is playing him. Not long ago, “Goldeneye” actor Sean Bean was revealed to be playing a character named Paul Sylar, or at least according to IMDB.com. Now someone else has chimed in on another actor nabbing the role of the villainous Sylar — Zachary Quinto.
According to a poster named “robinr333″ at the NBC Heroes forum, Sylar has indeed been cast, but it isn’t Sean Bean. It is, instead, a little known actor named Zachary Quinto.
Here’s what she said in a posting (Warning: SPOILERS in the link):
My husband works on Heroes and said the same things. Also, the actor cast to play Sylar is Zachary Quinto. They are alreading shooting scenes with him.
Fans of FOX’s “24″ might remember Quinto as “Adam” on the show’s third season, a CTU computer analyst who oftentimes butted heads with CTU’s resident neurotic Chloe O’Brien. You can get a full filmography for Quinto here.
So is Quinto in fact Sylar, or is it Sean Bean? Or maybe it’s someone completely different?
Time will tell…
(Thanks goes to forum member Hero for unearthing this information.)
UPDATE: November 20, 2006 – After the episode “Homecoming”, it is clear that Zachary Quinto is, indeed, playing the villain Sylar.
