Is Mama Petrelli aka Christine Rose’s Number Up?
After last night’s episode, it would appear that someone is stalking and killing the old guards — i.e. the heroes that came before this current batch of heroes. According to Kaito, there may be around a dozen members of this old guard, and with four now dead — Father Petrelli, Linderman, Charles Deveraux and now, Hiro’s father, Kaito, who was murdered last night in the Season 2 premiere by a hooded figure — only eight remain. And it seems as if Mama Petrelli is up next, if that death’s card she found is any indication.
The folks over at TV Guide sat down to chat it up with Christine Rose about her character’s impending doom. Here are some excerpts (read the rest of the interview here):
TVGuide.com: How scared are you these days?
Cristine Rose: I’m haaaaa-ting this! [Laughs] On my chair on the set, they’re now putting my name on with tape! It’s so sad. And in small letters down in the corner it says, “She’s going to die!” We have a “wall of death” at the studio, with pictures of all the actors who’ve been killed off, and I am staking out my 5 inches now! But you know what? If I make it to the end of this first volume of 10 episodes, I’m thrilled! I’ll still cry and they’ll have to drag me off the lot, but I’ll be thrilled.
TVGuide.com: Of the older generation’s original core four — Angela, Kaito, Linderman [Malcolm McDowell] and Charles [Richard Roundtree] — you’re the only one left.
Rose: Oh, we find out there are a few more. I still have no idea about the origins of this group. I like to think we all met up at Woodstock in the ’60s and it was there that we found out about our powers. We sprang from that generation that wanted to save the world. And, well, just look at it now — it’s all falling apart. Despite their best intentions, hell happened to Angela and her friends. She had especially wanted to save Peter from that hell, and her granddaughter Claire [Hayden Panettiere], too. But now she’s powerless. Her friends and family are dying, she’s alone and very vulnerable… and then it goes downhill from there. So who knows what will happen to her? I just hope I stay on the show long enough to qualify for the Angela Petrelli action figure!
