Great news to Irish fans of “Heroes” — you’re going to be getting “Heroes” next week! This comes courtesy of Ireland’s Channel 6, which according to Variety, has licensed the hit NBC show for domestic broadcast.
More from the deal:
Deal was agreed upon during the recent NATPE confab in Vegas but only unveiled Monday. No financial details were available, but generally Irish rights to American series, while on a uptick, are way below the extravagant prices paid in the past year or so by British broadcasters for Yank series.
“New shows are always a risk, but I think the strength of the ensemble cast coupled with its imaginative storyline will win fans in Ireland just as it has in the U.S.,” said Michael Murphy, founder and head of programs for the Dublin-based station.
Channel 6 will have exclusive first-run, free TV broadcast rights to the first season of “Heroes” in the Republic of Ireland.

Ireland doesnt have a “channel 6″
We have the RTE network, and if you press 6 on your remote, you are taken to RTE 2.
It’s 6 on your remote/tv by default. Not actually Channel 6 lol
