Heroes Season 3 Premiere Date: Sept. 22, 2008

NBC has finally announced its fall premiere dates for its returning and new shows. Of most interest to us is, of course, Heroes, which NBC has scheduled for a return to the airwaves on September 22, 2008, exactly one week later than the original September 15, 2008 date we reported on much earlier this year. According to NBC’s schedule, Heroes Season 3 will premiere with an hour-long “compilation” episode, the purpose of which is to get old and new viewers caught up on what’s happened on the show so far, followed by a 2-hour block of all-new Heroes.
For those interested in NBC’s other shows, here’s their fall 2008 premiere dates via the Hollywood Reporter:
Friday, Sept. 12
“America’s Toughest Jobs,” series premiere (8-10 p.m.); returns on Sept. 19
(8-9 p.m.) for five weeks, then resumes from 9-10 p.m. on Oct. 24
Monday, Sept. 22
“Heroes” clip show (8-9 p.m.); season premiere (9-11 p.m.)
Tuesday, Sept. 23
“Law & Order: SVU” (10-11 p.m.)
Wednesday, Sept. 24
“Knight Rider” (8-9 p.m.)
“Lipstick Jungle (10-11 p.m.)
Thursday, Sept. 25
“My Name Is Earl” — one-hour premiere (8-9 p.m.)
“The Office” — one-hour premiere (9-10 p.m.)
“ER” (10-11 p.m.)
Monday, Sept. 29
“Chuck” (8-9 p.m.)
“My Own Worst Enemy” (10-11 p.m.)
Friday, Oct. 3
“Life” (10-11 p.m.)
Thursday, Oct. 9
“Kath & Kim” (9:30-10 p.m.)
Friday, Oct. 17
“Crusoe” two-hour premiere (8-10 p.m.)
Thursday, Oct. 30
“30 Rock” (8:30-9 p.m.)

I really wish they would settle on the date, now I need to get Sept 22 off from work!

I read this story somewhere else today, and they said something about NBC NOT using the Olympic Games as a “launch pad” for the new season … I’m wondering, does this mean the network ISN’T going to promote their new season during the games?
Because not running any promos for Heroes, etc. during the Olympics seems incredibly stupid to me, regardless of NBC’s rationale. I hope it only means that NBC has pushed the premiere dates back (which they have), and not that they won’t air promos during the games. Because, dammit, the whole world should be teased with Heroes promos.

You’re exactly right! Damnit, the whole world SHOULD be teased with Heroes promos. The only problem is NBC doesn’t broadcast to “the world” for the Olympics. What we see is a specific broadcast created just for us in the good ol’ U.S. of A. If people are watching the Olympics, they are watching their own networks showing the people from their country perform in the Olympics. Of course, that doesn’t go for EVERY SINGLE country, especially the smaller ones that cannot afford it, but I am just trying to make the point that NBC does not own the world and therefore the whole world won’t be teased with Heroes promos… just us. How sad.

great, even longer to wait.

FanTASTIC… (Not)
I think it’s horrible how they’re pushing the release date back. I’m a Heroes OBSESSIVE so I really can’t wait >_<.

I just read about the fire at Universal as I get LA Times online. Not much details as yet for me. I hope no one got/gets hurt and I hope not much was damaged. I know one set was a New York one but I’m not sure if it was one they use on Heroes. I certainly hope not!

This show is the only show that holds my interest.
Very much looking forward to the new series of episodes!
Too bad we have to wait that long!

If it takes that long to do it right… it’s worth the wait.
