Heroes Season 3 Gets Two New Characters

I know what you’re thinking: “Great, just what we need, two more recurring characters?” Hey, I share your dismay. It would seem that Season 2 was pretty much jammed with way too many characters to begin with, and now Kring and company plans to introduce yet two more recurring characters into the mix come Season 3? Apparently yes, according to Michael Ausiello over at TV Guide. But hey, at least this time we’ll get a politician who isn’t a total scumbag, as politicians in genre TV shows tend to be. This one is described by Ausiello as a “straight shooter”, as oppose to, you know, “totally scumbag politician”.

Two new recurring roles are being cast, both of which are slated to debut in the Season 3 premiere. “Joy” is in her early twenties and described as “quick on her feet — and adept at getting herself into and out of trouble.” Senator Robert Malden, meanwhile, is in his fifties and a political straight shooter.
I get the bad feeling Joy is going to be yet another major Heroes character ala Monica. Why another one? I don’t know. I’m still wondering how Kring is going to juggle the supposedly dozen or so new villains he plans to introduce in Season 3.
I was wondering if Peter kills Claire's biological mother because of "the hunger" in a future episode, and that made ...
Everybody keeps getting stumped on this. Let me open something up with one little question:
Why do we need to assume ...
Thats SUCKs….Who needs that? Who needs one more politician and one more girl in her early 20? If she is the girl from “Create you Hero” with that lame power…..just kill me!

Agreed, second season presented us 7 beautiful main characters, at the begginig there where supposed to be 7 Peter, Claire, Nathan, Hiro, Nikki, Matt and Mohinder, then there where 3 added Micah, Isaac and Simone, then 2 added HRG and DL, soo 2 died, Isaac and Simone becoming in total 10 now.
Then start season 2, one of the main ones is dead, DL, making them 9 now, and where 2 supporting characters of the past season that become main ones now Sylar and Ando, then they are 11, presenting us Maya, Monica, Elle and Adam, making now 15, fine with that.
Now in season 3 two new character, and for the looks of it, Joy has accelerated speed, and true, maybe her arc will be similar to Monica’s, and Senator Robert Malden, perhaps about being shooter, it may mean that he has bright eye, I mean he has like hawkeye,he is good at pointing targets, better that HRG. Now include the villains, maybe there are going to be some like regulars and some like recurring ones, depending on the relation that some may habe with the characters, Angela will still be support, same as Bob, Sandra, West, Molly, Caitlin, Yaeko, Nana, the Haitian, Claude, etc…
There are many now 17 and then upcoming ones, but is better for the plot that at least at the end the 7 main originals stand to the end, specially for me Peter, Claire, Nathan, Hiro, Nikki, Matt and Mohinder, I know that some of this characters may end their course this coming season, but its better for this 7 that start the story, end it…

I guess they are just making up for the losses. Because we ‘lost’ adam, nikki and nathan, and we don’t know who is coming back. So it’s all a bit up in the air, but i wish they could just work with the characters they’ve got, rather than having new ones every season …

I like the fact that their bringing new char. it gives the heroes universe more of a complete fill. You can see that this evolution is more wide spread then a small group. This is the way I would have liked the x-men to be written when it first started. Complex people in a complex world, a world that grows and breathes.

I dont get it. So many new characters were introduced last season. That was the most annoying part for me. I liked the first season because there were just enough charaters to keep it interesting. I think too many characters can ruin the show.

Well, for me it doesn’t matter if they have more characters in the show because i’m only interested in the plot which i think is the very reason why Heroes stands out. What would you think will happen to Heroes if there are (what you guys are arguing with) less characters in the show but with a messy story? Isn’t that what ruins the show? Well, i’m just telling you guys my perspectives though…

I think the addition of the politician character could be interesting, especially if he is not so much a scum bag (although that is true as often as not, its also become a stereotype and therefore a little boring), and given the political climate they created in the show. Heroes has done role reversal I really like where unlike most other superhero stories that have the heroes hiding from the public because of prejudice, here they have secrecy forced upon them and they are actually struggling for recognition. The power structure has been set up by people with abilities and I think bringing this to pubic or government attention, if whispered in the right ears could help all the people that are getting shot in the shadows by their own kind. I have to say I’m also excited to see Nathan back in the politician’s playground, if that is where they go with this. Here’s hoping (crossed fingers)

It’d be amazing if Eliza Dushku played Joy…I dunno why…she hasn’t been on a series in a while and she’d be amazing in Heroes. She already has the action experience.

WHAT THE HELL IS EVERBODY ON ABOUT 2 new charaters is wicked. its just what heroes needs. by the sound of it ‘joy’ has castillo’s power from x men. and the senator sounds cool too.

I’m excited for two new heroes….it means u can explore the old characters who have well discovered their powers but see the reactions of the new characters who are just discovering their powers. As much as I love the old character the inclusion of new ones is always exciting to see how they will intertwine with the other characters

I like the idea of Eliza Dushku. I loved her in Tru Calling. I wish that hadn’t gone off. It probably won’t happen. But I think she could do it. As for Buffy…She was played out for toooo many seasons on a VAMPIRE show as a highschool/college student. It wouldn’t work at all. Eliza was in a more realistic environment..with a job and more real life events. And she wasn’t on as the same character for years. Besides somebody has to do it and better somebody you know and like as to some nobody we could care less to see. Because most of the characters on the show we know from other shows. Peter/Milo was on the Gilmore Girls! Don’t get me wrong I loved him on there. But if he can go from that to this and be great…why not Eliza!

Okay, a recurring character is not a regular. Our Heroes need new people to bounch off of. Eden, Ted, Thompson, Linderman all recurring. Otherwise, they will just be sitting in a room talking to each other. Take a breath it will all be alright.

Clair”s biological mom has a awsome power, will Clair develope it or not? If not her mom should get a re occuring role as someone to watch over her daughter, and no one know it was her could add some drama!

all i have to say is more ELLE and get rid of that stupid stupid stupid (did i mention stupid) and useless and ackward monica character… i mean common wtf!! she has the stupidest ability (muscle mimic!! hahaha) and is just so out of place with the story, not to mention that no one cares about her…….. thus, her character should be given the worst, most unsympathitic death as doing so would not hurt fan-feelings….. please indulge me SYLAR!!

If no one cares about her why does Niki nearly kill herself helping her escape a burning building? She will have a more serious more involved role in season 3 Im sure of it. However I do agree that it would be awesome (and evil) if Sylar got hold of her power =D

Muscle mimicry is not the stupidest power….Monica wasnt soo bad.
She is going to be ST.Joan…so they wont kill her off soon.
Also - she can learn all this ninja stuff and other mortial arts (with arming) …even Elle may lose!

I don’t get why everyone is so bothered by new characters. New characters mean new cool abilities! And if you’re too simple to keep up with all of the characters and the plot, which I’ve had no trouble doing, then maybe you should be watching something more simple like cartoons? haha
