Heroes Rumor of the Day: Niki is Dead, but Jessica is Not?

The last time we saw her, Niki (Ali Larter) was trapped in a burning building that, moments later, exploded into tiny bits — taking Niki with it, we presume. Not so, says Kristin over at E! Online, who offers up an alternative theory: Niki is indeed dead, but not really dead; instead, the Niki personality will be completely obliterated by the explosion, leaving just … Jessica! Or at least, that’s the rumor.

According to Heroes insiders, Niki is not expected to return to the show. But her devilish alter ego, Jessica? Oh yeah, we’ll see her as soon as the show comes back to the beloved airwaves—when the strike is through! At least, that’s the plan according to sources who tell me producers had “done all they could do” with Niki. Micah is not gonna be happy. But at least he’ll have Monica…
I am still personally under the belief that Ali Larter has left the show permanently (save for perhaps a cameo or two in the future) to re-commence her movie career. Remember, Ali Larter was a movie actress before she gave TV a shot, and now that her career is scorching hot again, it is my belief that she wants to resume her movie career, the more prestigious job of the two in Hollywood.
Then again, I could be wrong, and Jessica may indeed be back to join Sylar’s Legion of Villains.
The other speculation? Both Nathan and Anders will also be back. Anders coming back would be believable, expected, and I dare say, wanted, but bringing Nathan back yet again would just be absurd. Either kill the man off or stop dangling him in the mouth of Death, Heroes writers, it’s getting ridiculous.
I think it was Peter who shot Nathan. Future Peter, I mean. Remember season 1 where they were talking about ...

Jessica back but not Nikki? How ’bout they both go away, that’d be great.
BUT…the return of Adam Monroe??? Now that I can live with. How he’ll fit into the “Villians” story could prove extremely interesting. You know he won’t work for anyone. He has to be in control. I don’t see he and Sylar getting along at all. Sylar is pure evil, but strangely he has a desire to leave “innocents” out of his plans. Adam wants to wipe the world and start anew. And if Sylar learns of Adams powers…off with his head!
If Nathan comes back…he better have a significant role as the leader of the good guys. I foresee The Company becoming the target in “Villians” and the good guys will have to come to its aid. But that’s the beauty of The Company. It is so amoral, so bad yet so….not bad, (it’s not good, but not evil). Bob will need help if Sylar and crew come knocking.
Hurry up and end the strike!!!

The only way I want to see Niki/Jessica back on the show is via a flashback or time travel episode. She blew up with the building and it needs to stay that way.
As for Nathan, I agree with Sam. Really makes you wonder what happened to the show motto - No One is Safe!

How could it be possible for Jessica to live and not Nicki? Give me a break, they’re just different personalities in the SAME BODY. Note to the writers of the show- “When you guys come back, lets not go to far overboard with this show. Adam will make his return later in the series, doesn’t even has to be this season. It would be great to have him come back at the wrose time possible and mess up Peter or Hiro.
Nathan has taken quite a few bullets, we’ve seen before that it doesn’t always mean death. Despite being played by a good actor I think it’s time for his character to leave. Two other characters can fly, so if you need to move people around you still can.
Super-strenght is cool, I remember a picture showing Larter as a Hulk, a personnality could easily be lost due to a traumatic event.

I feel the same as Whitney, i was so shocked and sad when the building blew up and not knowing if she got out or not. But it’s absurd to have one die and the other not. I’ll accept the fact that Jessica took over to get her out of there, and stayed in control, but seeinf as Nicki has the shanti virus i doubt that. She better be alive though, she’s one of my fav characters…
I won’t mind Adam returning though, he was a good villian. Anyone thinking of Adam V Claire =)

How can Jessica be able to manifest and survive if Niki was injected with the virus which disables her abilities??? doesn’t make any sense… Adam’s fate should stay as is….sucks for him, and Nathan needs to die so that Peter can have motive to start destroying some people…starting with the shooter HRG…

I agree with most of the people in this forum. How can one personality (Niki) died and the other one (Jessica) live? This doesnt make any sense. Keep in mind she was powerless… Niki told Micah she didnt have her superstrength anymore. COME ON people, think before you talk! Accept the fact she is dead plain and simple. Basement exploded first and then the top floors. See the scene in slow motion.
As for Nathan? HE WILL LIVE!!…Why? I am happy to inform you that you need to go back to Season 1 and see the episode where Linderman showed Nathan a picture of him being the President of the U.S. in the future thanks to Isaac Mendez who painted that precognition image.
Also, keep in mind that Isaac Mendez’s paintings are being extremely accurate!
Here is my spoilers for season 3:
Niki is dead, Nathat survives! New (3 or 4)villains and two new heroes are introduced . That is why there is a Sprint blog in creating a new hero is all about. Please take the hint! Sheesh.
Elle becomes good…teams up with either claire or Mohinder and Molly.
Sylar kills Maya due to the fact he knows she is going to kill him at first sight for killing her brother.
As for Sylar teaming up with other villains? Impossible! He likes to work solo. He wants to acquire all the abilities so he can become the one and only person with abilities(GOD).
Please give the creator and producers of the show a break. They tried so hard to narrow this season into 11 episodes. That is very hard knowing that you have little time. That is why he apologized in advance.

What I reckon will happen is Jessica will join this Legion of Doom and in the season finale Niki
will return. Just like season 1.
Legion of Doom: Sylar, Adam(possible), and maybe some others
Legion of Heroes: Peter, Nathan, Hiro, Matt and they’ll have to chuck in to females, maybe Elle. Each of these Heroes are children of the Original 12.

Well technically Jessica may have saved Niki, not with super-streinght because the Shanti Virus stripped her of her powers, but Jessica or Gina or someother personality (god I hope not D.L) could have still been able to get Niki’s body out of the building in time.
Multiple personality disorders are just that a DISORDER not a superhuman ability.
So I think she may be alive or the Body of Niki anyhow! lol sorry for rambling!

I dont think Niki is dead. I mean if you think about it, it would be REALLY REALLY stupid for Micah to lose both his parents. That’s very bad story writing. To lose one is fine but not both. Niki has to be alive…i hope…cuz she’s my favourite character and i don’t think they have used her full potential yet with the character.

Ok.. If you see the chapter 8 of the season 2, you’ll see that even though Nikki taken the pirls, Gina came out and thrown all the pirls away in the bathroon! And what about when Jessica tried to kill Bob when he was talking to Mohinder on chapter 9?? That’s when mohinder got that beautiful nose! Remember? I don’t know if the same thing’s happening! But what we could see is that Nikki taken the pirls! But Jessica/Gina don’t! (Although I don’t know the reason why Gina threw the pirls away.. Maybe it has difficulted her “welcome” somehow..

I’ve taken a different train of thought with the Niki-in-the-building scenario.
Niki has contracted the virus (through the injection earlier in the series) and is now what i would consider dead having been stuck in that building went it went boom. There’s a chance that the virus could now spread from her body during autopsy or contact with her blood maybe?

First let’s clear one thing up…in the episode where it shows Nathan as president of the U.S., the individual who commented about that should remember that once Nathan was out of view of the others, he morphed into Sylar!
Which means….Sylar absorbs Nathan’s abilities which also means, Nathan is dead. Then again, Nathan is Claire’s natural papa so you never know…ANDDDD…Adam injected some of his own blood into Nathan, so mayhap he’ll be able to heal hisself. Which brings us to the similarities between Claire and Adam….maybe Nathan isn’t her daddy after all. Maybe Adam is. Ya never know what is going to happen on Heroes, and I for one, am waiting excitedly for the return. As for Niki being dead, Hiro could just have easily pulled her out of that burning building. And Noah Bennett got to come back to life so why not D.L? Again, you never know!

I really liked Nathan. He was one of my favorite characters. But if the only way he can stay alive is by having someone give him Claire’s blood, then he should remain dead. The introduction of the blood in the story line, in my opinion, was a terrible thing to do.

I personally want niki back she was my favorite characters and the writers messed up her whole story in the second season…im am still pissed off with the its just a personality disorder too…i have two reason one jessica was the only one with a tatto and also tim kirngs first thought for niki’s power was to have her power to be in two places at once…hmmm….also i think they really could make a creative and unique story with her…she was awsome in season one….i mean ripping people in half is pretty cool….i mean i could see this happening in some way that jessica comes back…people want that edgy character….and ali is a great actress…nathan i was sad to see him shot but like someone said he has already died before and it would give claire a lot more confusion to figure out her dad (HRG) killed her dad (nathan) also he cant come back becuase all that would happen would be he would talk about the company and thats not going to happen….presonly(and everyone will hate me for this)..but i rather woudl have seen peter shot….hes been kinda annoying to me latley…even kring had to apologize for how he has been latley..in my opion they got rid of the best actors IF both are dead which one probably will…kring did say though niki’s fate is up in the air…so i still hope she is alive she was my fav character…and i seriosly woudnt watch the show if she was gone…i really really was pissed.

Everyone seems to believe that Niki’s/Jessica’s power is being 2 (or 3, remember Gina) person in 1 body, and that they can separate, thus being at 2 (or 3) places at the same time.
That’s not correct. Niki’s power is superhuman strength, but she DOES have a personality disorder, which means she has got more than 1 personality.
The difference between Niki and Jessica is that the personality called Jessica knows how activate her superstrength, but Niki is not as experienced when it comes to that.
The short version: Niki and Jessica is 2 different personalities in the same body. Both of them got superhuman strength, but in the beginning only Jessica knows how to use it.
Even shorter version: Niki got superhuman strength, (Like Jessica), being 2 “persons” is not a power.
