Heroes Preview: Season 3 Episode 3 (3.03) One of Us, One of Them

In the previous episode, “The Butterfly Effect”, a huge secret was revealed by Angela Petrelli that, as he cliche goes, changes everything. Or does it? We all know Mama Petrelli is one manipulative ice queen, so is she really capable of telling the truth for once? Especially to a mass murdering psychopath like Sylar? That remains to be seen. Until then, here’s your complete preview for the third episode of Heroes Season 3, titled, “One of Us, One of Them”. The episode will feature a surprising team-up, the Level 5 villains finally show off what kind of damage they can really do, and Mohinder Suresh discovers that having powers is not all it’s cracked up to be. Sure, he can climb walls, but what about those scaly things growing out of his back? Maya ain’t gonna like that one bit, I’d imagine.

Remember, in season one, Angela was able to tell Nathan that he would be a congressman. Lo and behold, he was a congressman. In the season 2 DVD, a deleted scene is seeing all of the heroes dead at the company. When Sylar approaches behind Mrs. Petrelli, you see her wake up in a limo. THAT’s the scene that appears in the season 3 premiere.
Angela said it to future Peter during the season premiere last night. Her power is that she can see things before they happen.
Premonition.
In the season one premiere, Peter got that power from his mom. Remember, when he visited Nathan, he said he dreamt that he could fly (Nathan’s power).
So, Peter absored Nathan’s power AND Angela’s power, and used the dream to see that he can use both. He just didn’t know it at the time. :)P

In fact, ALL of those crazy dreams he had in Season 1 were probably his mom’s power at work… that’s how he knew Nathan got in that accident with Heidi. It’s how he first got a glimpse of Claude.

bread, don’t you remember when sylar left the house of claire after cutting her head, he went and visit the level 5 and all of the sudden Elle run to Noah which is claire’s father and throw the gun and said “Sylar is here” then when he came out sylar just blast him with electricty power and sylar attacks Elle then sylar mention that he killed his father… due to her angrynest he explode and throwed powerful voltage and let everyone in the cell escape and sylar found unconcious and placed him on the cell where the real peter petrelli was kepted for safety by his future self.

You know what I wonder? Can peter absorb the super strength powers of all three (Nikki, Knox, and Dr.Suresh) super strong people and combine them to make him stronger than any of them? What I’m thinking is that their powers have the same effects but different causes. For instance, Nikki’s power might be that her muscle cells can individually exert much more force than normal human muscle cells. While Dr.Suresh’s super strength might come from his muscle tissue becoming many times denser than normal human muscle tissue, like compressing the muscles of a body builder until they take up half of their original volume while keeping the same total mass. Knox’s strength somehow increases by him feeding on the fears of the people around him, thats different than either Nikki or Suresh. Add Clairs healing/regenerating power, which might prevent lactic acid build up and other fatigue hormones form weakening him the more he exerts himself.

Yes Angela’s power is seeing the future and that means Peter got the Power to astral project from Deveroux. Although I think that for once Angela is telling the truth…It’s no coincidence that she choose Sylar to be her pet especially after having that dream of him creeping up behind her. I still think Angela is that girl from the GN who kills Molly’s gramms…Seriously who fears a precog?

I want to know can Peter absorb powers while he is trapped inside that other guy and can he still use his other powers while there? What happened with the 12 villains thing only 4 escaped from level 5…HRG in level 5 that was very funny!

ok, i’ve been a fan for quite a while. i remember this time last year i was in sci-fi heaven. both heroes & the 4400 were running new episodes. now, sadly, the 4400 has been cancelled (without tying up any of the loose ends from their 1st season.) but heroes is still running strong. good to see some themes in heroes that were in the 4400 (well, powers, evolution, time travel, and most importantly, the theme of injecting people without powers with powers) loved the premier. love the show. kring is a genius with the butterfly effect concept. he left himself a backdoor in the event of another writers strike or even a actors strike. the possibilities are endless. they always have the option of changing one episode and taking the entire show in another direction at will. i love it.

If Angela Petrelli is telling the truth about Sylar, Then who was his father. A question i have asked since the first series and again more repeatedly in the second series WHO IS THE PETRELLIS FATHER?
The pictureshowing the founders of the company does not reveal anything and we have very little information about what his power was! Peter will also have absorbed this.

I wouldn’t be disappointed if Adam turned out to be one of the petrelli boy’s (including sylar now) father or all of them. So far in the show, the people who have similar abilities seem to be related one way or another. E.g. sylar, and peter. Both powers very similar. Claire’s mother meredith, and one of the escapee from level 5, flint (hints have it he’s a relative). It would be a logical assumption to say that claire and adam share a common entity in the family tree. Peace. So happy that heroes is back!! Woot!

there was a couple of questions that I had.
before sylar had claire’s power, at the end of season 2 - how did he heal the minor injuries when he got his powers back?
if adam monroe/takezo kensei and all the regulars got their powers during the eclipse…how did their parents get it? (except adam…whos parentage we don’t know)
why can’t peter/hiro just jump small spaces back in time to prevent the stupid mistakes like getting the formula stolen, sylar taking claire’s power… i mean nothing was simulateously going on that REQUIRED them to be exactly present somewhere else. and they obviously want to correct those mistakes…
who are the people in the company founders’ picture on the bottom right? the top row is revealed, the lady next to charles devoe i’m guessing is his wife, but there is a mexican and white guy on the bottom right that aren’t mentioned at all or related to anyone…
if peter absorbed ALL of sylar’s powers during his contact with him at kirby plaza, why didn’t his super hearing pick up on parkman’s entrance so he could just freeze time, teleport, become invisible, etc…rather, why didn’t his super hearing pick up on a lot of things in the second season?
On that note…why didn’t he just shoot nathan invisible?
i’m guessing that the next episode will explain a bit about this, but originally I thought peter had the scar on his face in season 2 in the alternate universe because he never met claire in that future to pick up his healing abilities. but now, he still seems to not get rid of that scar. i don’t understand how he can heal, but not get rid of his scar. i know that claire and adam’s healing is slightly different because theirs can regenerate indefinately to stop again and their blood can actually transfer to others to heal them, but idk…
On that note…you know how mohinder got powers from mya’s blood? how come noah didn’t get any?…oh wait, it’s cause it wasn’t isolated. but ok, another question - can nathan and noah heal indefinately from adam/claire’s blood or does it have an expiry date - if so, how long is it?
and a question actually directed at this particular episode - why didn’t/couldn’t stop time completely when daphne had the knife to ando’s throat?

i think i have figured out niki’s power i think her power is kinda like peters but instead of just absorbing the power she absorbs the persons memorys thoughts traits and their power this is the only thing i can think of cause i dont see how else she froze that guy either she has the power i just mentioned or she is just like peter and doesn’t know it or perhaps its something else
also this season is already better then season 2 for 1 reason sylar its awesome seeing him slice open heads and cause havoc its wild because sylar has so many powers right now the fact that he has the power to create a nuke blast is insane
and speaking of sylar i wanna know does he have candices power he had the virus and was able to use his powers at the time so with that being said was he able take her power

yeah thats the logical thing, he shouldnt be able to. but think about it, theoretically if he could, then the future hiro saw, could still happen, with few flaws, but future peter still has that scar, someone could still blow up new york, (but would be in same event as series 1)
sylar could become president, ah but he wouldnt need clairs power so some of it wouldnt fit, but i think it would be cool if it was still possible and they implemented it

1. sylar healed because mohinder has an injection of clares blood which sylar mixed with mohinders blood to cure his virus, also healing him at the same time.
2. it hasnt been confirmed that the heroes get their powers from the eclipse. my theory is that the eclipse symbolises the generations involved in the evolution process.
3. if hiro went back 5 minutes to change what happend 5 minutes ago, he would meet himself 5 minutes ago, causing a rift.
4. they are all part of the company so they did have a power, the mexican looking guy in the bottom row is called carlos mendez, probably a relative of isaac mendez, he’s is dead though matt confirms this. the ‘white guy’ next to him is called harry fletcher, matt also confirms him as dead. the black woman is paula gramble, she is believed to be monicas mother and nana dawsons daughter in law, again, matt confirms her as dead, then theres the blonde woman in the top left, she is yet to be revealed, could be adam monroe in drag lol however there is a picture on the net of the photo covered in post-its and her name is susan something and she is also labeled as deceased so she’s just a red herring i guess.
5. peter didnt use his power because(you might have missed the small fact that he was about to go nuclear and he was unstable) oh, there you go
6. on that note, we’re talking about season 2 now and he didnt go invisible to shoot nathan bcause there was no need, he pulled it off without it so…
7. i think next episode will reveal how he got the scar, if you watch the video again you see a black guy standing behind clare while she’s cutting him, someone else noticed too and guessed it was the haitian, i’d have to agree, and if the haitian is there, healing power = bye bye = cut on the face stays cut, the same way sylar couldnt take an ability while he was infected in season 2.
8. you answered yourself but you were only half right, the abilities dont manifest in the blood, they come from the adrenal glands.

Lots of people say why didnt hiro go back and stop himself letting out the formula, good question.
but when we think about the way Tim kring loojs at the time travel theory in heroes it doesnt make sense.
on theroy is if you go back and ill someone, then go forward to your time, everything will be different, they would not hav had kids blah blah blah.
but the theory heroes uses is.
go back change the future for the different timeline but not your own.
creating parralel universe’s. the theroes of every possible choice action, can be taken dofferently by different realities, creating endless different realities. therefor going back would not have changed what hiro did
remember series 1 hiro went back and told em to save the cheerleader. when they went to the future, that hiro didnt know about clair being saved, none of them did, they all thought she had still died, but she was alive noah was hiding her.

i am not watching heroes seriously, but i still have a lot of questions like all of you do. for instance, that one of the comentary have mentioned that why peter in the future still got his scar with him when he can heal himselve.
besides, i saw linderman is being invisible, is that his power, too?
after i have watched the preview, i was shocked that when clare bear is turing into a bad person, i am really anticipating for the next episode.
hopefully all of my question can be answered after season 3, adn hopefully we may have season 4 on the way. Apparently, the answer appeared in between every charaters’ relationship….

Yes Angela has premonition.
I don’t think Linderman was invisible. We don’t even know for sure if he is actually alive. It’s possible that he is some type of figment of Nathan’s imagination.
The fact that Future Peter still has a scar is significant. Is it possible that the scar is caused by a sword? Don’t think of them as questions, but as things that could make some really good episodes.

um linderman isnt real… future peter is using matt’s power to make nathan think linderman is real to make other people think he’s crazy because he talks to himself. if people think he’s is crazy he cant get elected to congress and no one will find out about the ‘heroes’…then the world wont blow up because people go crazy and blah blah blah. but…because of the butterfly effect nathan not being able to be there for present peter who is stuck in some dude’s body, will be killed by sylar, or claire only because sylar, claire or HRG for that matter thinks peter is someone else. thus fulfilling the premonition of angela. but something is gonna happen to stop it somehow cause all the heroes dying inst a good ending to the season

This theory makes no sense. I don’t remember Peter meeting Linderman, and I don’t agree with the fact he’s using Matt’s power. There’d be no reason. He SHOT Nathan to stop him from talking. Why would he not just tell Nathan about what happened like he DID. Why keep making him believe Linderman’s alive AFTER that fact?

they said that sylar was in a level 2 prison so why does it seems like sylar are much stronger and the level five guys we have been seen. just him from the webb episode would win in a battle agains sylar but we have just seen 4 level 5 guys of 12

Sylar probably wasn’t seen as big a threat to humanity as the others because he didn’t go around killing people on street corners for sport. If you notice they showed the ones that escaped from Level 5 killing people just for fun. Sylar has always had a purpose in what he did and rarely used his powers against people unless he had a direct goal in mind.

The reason why Sylar was probably classified as a level 2 prisoner was because at the time he had nowhere near the number of powers he has now (especially since aquiring Claire’s powers) - he only had the ability to aquire them. Sylar would probably be classified above level 5 prisoners if he cannot learn to control the hunger of killing and taking others powers

Tim Kring has talked about the eclispe it just connects people world wide has nothing to do with powers
Can’t make small jumps as you can’t change the past unless you make calculations to when to come back e.g Future Hiro telling peter when he did. Although when Hiro went back that was an accident but still went back at the exact time to effect the future making it a fluke. Time travel works like this you can go back and change it only when you are ment to as it creates that current time flow e.g. Hiro making Adam a Villain already needed to happen to make that time line. But going back at wrong times could destroy everything.
Hopefully we will find out other founders names stories etc.

Scar may of been permanent because of the way it happend hasn’t been fully explained yet.
Clare is special as her power must be different from adrenaline as its in blood Noah etc would have regerative powers until the blood was all gone.
Hiro can’t completely stopped time he must slow it down so its soo slow it looks like its not moving so super speed cancels it out like how Daphne says he isn’t completely stopping time.
Also about Nickis power I think she gets it from will she needed to be strong for Micah and she was an Ice queen.

I said before the eclipse could be something.I read that Heroes will loose their powers, all of them and I bet that will be in a eclipse episode this season.
The scar isn’t to well explain, remember we saw in alternative future when the bomb explodes (Volume 1).And as I saw Future Hiro from Volume 3 is different from Future Hiro from Volume 1 but Future Peter are the same at both volumes.How come it be?

the powers come from the adrenal glands (not sure of the spelling) that produce adrenaline, but claires might be from her blood because weve never seen peter petrelli or adam monroes blood heal anyone.
im just guessing but id say at some point while they had adam locked away the company would have tested his blood for healing properties but no mention of it so his may just be for personal use, either that or its a minor plot hole.

So, what I want to know is this: In “The Butterfly Effect” it was revealed that Peter started a different timeline by coming back and trying to stop his timeline. The new timeline started when Sylar got Claire’s power. That wasn’t supposed to happen. From what I can tell, Claire was supposed to go to NY to see Nathan after he got shot (future Peter told her not to come). But, Claire wouldn’t have had any reason to go to NY if Nathan hadn’t of gotten shot so it seems like Sylar was supposed to get Claire’s abilities anyway.

Im in the UK and have got a week until it starts! Times going really slow! The promo for the premier looks awesome, although they have these things where either Milo or Jack Coleman walk down this dark room, and look through this BBC ‘2′ keyhole…but they seem weird
