Heroes Preview: Season 3 Episode 17 (3.17) Cold Wars
Looks like ol HRG is in for a bad ol time with the boys in Episode 17, “Cold Wars”. Or at least, that’s the prediction we’re making after this week’s “Building 26″, the final seconds of which found HRG being hauled off by Matt Parkman, Peter Petrelli, and Mohinder Suresh. But just how far will the boys go to find out the truth? And why did the mysterious, as-yet-unseen Rebel just send Ando and Hiro back to L.A. to “save” Matt Parkman? And will we ever find out the fate of Daphne? Plus, just what exactly is The Hunter’s final game plan? He sure looks like a man with his own agendas. HEAD GAMES ENSUE AS MATT EXTRACTS THE TRUTH FROM HRG
While being held hostage, HRG (Jack Coleman) is subjected to Matt Parkman’s (Greg Grunberg) unique brand of interrogation, revealing how he became involved with Nathan’s (Adrian Pasdar) government plot to capture those with abilities. Meanwhile, Matt’s discoveries bring Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) face-to-face with “The Hunter” (guest star Zeljko Ivanek).

everyone that comes here has the right to there oponion since they are fans of the show. otherwise they wouldn’t be on this site if they weren’t. we all have characters we like and dislike, so there is nothing wrong with them expressing those things on a site for fans of the show. claire is one of my least favorite characters, but i don’t want her to die. GREAT SHOW GO HEROES!!!

I’d love to see a really in depth interrogation! Matt’s telepathy has evolved quite a lot and I reckon he could get HRG to spill spill spill….and there’s nothing HRG can do to stop it!!!
Peter vs The Hunter – Hmmmm….it depends on what ability Peter has at the time…
Sylar does have a sense of humour after all…This Luke kid’s annoying the hell out of him, and still he saves him (I love that “Psycho Killer” song @ the end of their scene!)…will eventually take his power by empathy maybe? And how does Luke explain knowing Sylar’s father as well as he does?
Hiro really needed to learn the lesson that he did, he was being such a baby!!
Claire going rogue? Saw that coming…
Save Matt Parkman? Well…Matt’s obviously gonna find out Daphne’s not dead, and will go on a “risk all” mission to retrieve her…Obvious…But what can Hiro and Ando do to help? That’s what I’m wanting to see.
Let’s wait and see what happens next week.
I hope they remember HRG knows Japanese–I’m pretty sure he used that to confuse a mind reader before–Perhaps even Parkman–I hope that the interrogation turns into something of a duel/mindgame (for lack of another way of putting it). If anyone can find ways to outwit a mind-reader it would be HRG.
And yes, I do think Matt is more skilled at mind reading and generally smarter than most people give him credit for (yes, I do understand that even the “smartest” characters on the show have a habit of doing unsmart things…*ahem* Dr Suresh! *cough* *cough!*), but I don’t think Parkman is as dumb as people commonly interpret him as being…however, with that being said, I still don’t think he can take on HRG and get EVERYTHING we want to know about him, but I do hope he gets a lot of juicy info out of him. In fact, I think it would be pretty cool if HRG actually gives Matt some false info. Again, if anyone could find a way to cheat on a lie detector, it would be this guy–in fact, wouldn’t it be awesome if he were (to a limited extent)able to bypass even Sylar’s lie detector ability?? Just a thought.
Man, I’m getting myself psyched for this episode just thinking about the possibilites!
I know I’m likely setting myself up for failure with that, but I’m pretty sure HRG is the sort of guy who’ll end up answering the questions Pete and the gang hope to find, but at the expense of raising a whole new slew of things they wouldn’t have ever imagined.
Yes! Another episode that surrounds my favorite character. The last episode that was all about Noah was sweet, I’m glad we have another one.
Man that episode was awesome, i can hardly wait for next week. Though i feel that there is some kind of trick going on, is Noah a good guy or a bad guy, we have yet to find out. I’m beginning to think that this is going to spark controversy between peter and claire considering the fact that he is her father. we’ll see what happens, but that’s the biggest hint i can actually get out of it. Oh i was thinking, remember when he explains that sylars father loved birds, i couldn’t stop but think that it was that invisible guy from season one lol. I can’t remember his name though. Anywho, good good stuff coming up, i just can’t wait to see nathan burn burn burn.
building 26 was a great episode and for once the dialogue was great, even claire wasn’t going over the top. Also the trailer for the next episode looks so cool can’t wait, you know anything HRG centred is going to be amazing
this episode looks like it’ll be damn good.
i cant wait to see the head games HRG will play with parkman, he may not have an ability but he can definitely outsmart parkman.

to be honest tho, we need more sylar screen-time. still the best character on the show.
this chapter is looking to be even more violent and war-like than the last one. heroes is damn good again, liking this direction.

im calling this right now MICAH. hes capable of sending faxes, texts, etc. with his power, hes smart, can ‘hack’ into nathan’s operation to stay one step ahead of him, and since he was MIA the first half of the season, he is due some screen time eventually. only other character weve met who could do the same kinda stuff would be hanna…but she died in the online comics bringing down a satellite.

i too think its micah he has a great ability and would be a great help to peter and the rest in stopping nathan. personnally though i think heroes has still gone of trackwith the story they should decide on an ending at a certain point and work towards that. ive always said syler vs peter in a final showdown which decides the fate of te earth would be a great finish but getting there is looking further and further away

well I wasnt correcting 311 I was correcting smitastrophe, pretty much for the same reason you just used, that this isnt a site about grammar or spelling, its just to discuss heroes, yet smitastrophe has corrected everybodies mistakes down the page, so i did the same back, in a an effort to point out the whole ‘he without blame can throw stones at people if you like’ thing…
Great observations saint and kill, I forgot all about Micah. Figured we’d never see him again since his parents are dead and his “aunt” Tracy is detained. Wonder if we’ll ever see Molly again. I loved these 2 in season 1 and hope that the show will write for them.
Being that Micah’s parents are dead, his storyline becomes one of the msot exciting/interesting. Also, being that we haven’t seen him all season long there will be a lot of mystery surounding him. Also, Molly will be back. Greg Grunberg confirmed it. Micah will almost definitely be back, because we saw his picture at the beginning of Fugitives.
According to Pokarsky/Coleite Molly was in a deleted scene of Our Father: “There was a scene where Arthur found Molly and stole her ability, using it to find Hiro and Claire in the past. However, the scene just seemed overwhelmingly, what’s the word? Disturbing.”

Sylar cannot create illusions, that was in season 1 episode 20, and when he tried to take Candice’s ability(season 2) It did not work because of the Shanti virus.

1 – I think we may find that HRG has an ability.
2 – Mikah = REBLE
3 – Ando dosent kill Hiro in the future, he powers him up (knocking him on his ass for a moment) so he can time travel to the past and tell Peter “Save the Cheerleader, save the world”
4 – Something will happen to reunite Nathan into the fold
5 – we will learn what some of the stuff in Primatechs vault means
I agree with you on Rebel beign Micah. I’m not sure what I think about HRG having an ability, but it is definitely an interesting idea. Nice work. The more I think about it, the more I think that idea rocks. I’ve been saying all along that Ando does NOT kill Hiro. If you watch the episode, Ando zaps Hiro with RED lightning, it apears. Sound familiar? Ando’s ability happens to look liek red lightning. I think that Nathan will eventually be brought back into the fold, although I am not sure how I fell about that just yet. I sure hope wel earn about some of the stuff in Primatech’s vault, but I am not so sure it will happen. I definitely hope so, though.
i agree in some stuff relating to you theory. i think ando can power up hiro for a limited time. so that hiro’s power is juiced by ando.

Ok I know everyone else seems to be liking the new direction of the show and hated Villains but….WTF Villains had much more potential to be awesome! People with powers need to fight people with powers. I know the government is powerful but come on. At least when the company was hunting they used discretion and one of us one of them made it interesting. Guys with guns and equipment is definitely not as cool as power vs power at least not visually. It is something that had to happen eventually I guess I just hope it only runs the course of one volume cause Im thinking lame. Also some of you know me and I rarely complain about an episode but I am dumbfounded by the praise this episode has been receiving.
IT was boring. Tracy was a stupid bitch when she is supposed to be a smart character. Sylar seems to be flip floping again, although without his scenes this would have been the worst episode ever. IF luke turns out to be his lil brother I will kill someone.
Next episode does look great though.
MY stab at rebel would be to pin it on Angela. She can see the future and would have been able to tell Hiro and Ando to save Matt. Something that obviously is not needed now. How would micah know? Also how she might have known Claire saves Alex cause she saw it in her dreams.
Also I know that one of the major cast members is going to be killed and it was someone who the fans would be upset withs death.
Untill recently I guessed Tracy or Claire. Hayden was rumored to want out which later was confirmed to be false, Ali larter the same but I have heard that their are plans for Tracy, not Barbara but Tracy that travel into the next volume and with PEter and the Hunter moving closer to a confrontation I fear for my favorite character. I will be honest he is my favorite but not always the brightest and my reason for wanting him to have all his powers is less about him being the most powerful and more about wanting him to have Regen so I dont have to worry about him dying.
Anyone else have thoughts on who will be leaving in light of new knowledge. I know most people pegged Tracy or Claire but doesnt seem as likely now. Hiro maybe?
OH one more huge bitch. In a world of awesome powers why the hell would any writer waste time with breathing any water. Ask any little boy what power he dreams of if you asked a million none of them would want to breathe under water as a 1st choice. I have always loved the writers creativity with the powers and I love the microwave minus its sound effect but WTF breathing under water what where you thinking. IT was bad enough that it was in the web comics. Sylar wouldnt even waste his time on that lame power. How bout an earthquake or hell even x ray vision anything is better that breathing underwater. IF Alex becomes and important and regular cast member sapping up screen time I am going to be very disapointed. And if he becomes the new love interest it will be worse than west and he had a power that was already on the show.
Eric HRG is good without an ability..and if he had one..now’s not the time to unravel it..

Ando won’t kill Hiro..only knock him out..but jesus “save the cheerleader..” was way back and Future Hiro already explained that..
and I have a theory why Peter’s power weakened..hello! he doesn’t have emphaty anymore..he doesn’t have love in his heart..he just wants to kick the government’s ass and especially Nathan’s..he loved him most..and now he hates him..his emphaty is gone (: and I’m really looking forward to see Sylar unite with Peter and the others to take the government down

I saw a deleted seen on ytube where syler (lol 311) takes the ability of an invisible girl. That never came in to play later. Since molly’s pwers were stolen in a DELETED scene it means your not suppose to go by that. They didn’t want her to lose here powers hence it was deleted.
Yet it is listed on the wiki… interesting. I don’t think they put false info up on the Heroes wiki.
BTE #14 says that Molly’s scene with Arthur was cut, therefore, the storyline was cut too.

Yeah it’s some BS imo, It did happen and was filmed but you are right. It did not take place in the real story, thus we may see Molly still, which in my opinion is a disappointment.
