Heroes Preview: Season 3 Episode 11 (3.11) The Eclipse Part 2
The second part of Heroes’ mega two-part episode, “The Eclipse” continues next week after an episode filled with revelations and confrontations. The eclipse itself, it seems does more than just turn everything dark — it takes away powers. Meanwhile, we finally learn why Daphne is so determined not to lose her powers at the hands of Arthur Petrelli, and the Petrelli boys have a bit of a sibling tussle in the jungles of Haiti. The second part of “The Eclipse” should keep the family squabbling coming (though not necessarily from the Petrelli clan), and as Claire seems to hang between life and death, dear old Dad’s got a couple of villains in his sights. Let’s just hope Elle and Sylar savors that kiss they’re sharing, cause one or both of them may be kissing something else goodbye in “The Eclipse” Part 2…
Official Description:
THE HEROES CONTINUE TO DISCOVER THEIR TRUE ABILITIES UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE ECLIPSE
The eclipse continues to impact the Heroes’ abilities as Elle (Kristen Bell) and Sylar (Zachary Quinto) face off against a vengeful H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) while Claire (Hayden Panettiere) struggles to survive. In Haiti, Peter and Nathan (Milo Ventimiglia and Adrian Pasdar) join forces with the Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis) to battle the Haitian’s brother, Baron Samedi (guest star Demetrius Grosse), and Nathan comes to a shocking decision. In the meantime, Ando (James Kyson Lee), Sam (guest star Seth Green) and Frack (guest star Breckin Meyer) work hard to get Hiro’s (Masi Oka) memory back with the help of the “9th Wonders” comic books at a local comic bookstore.
Brea Grant and Robert Forster guest stars.

this is exciting, i hope peter gets his powers back after the eclipse. and dont kill sylar. peace out!
…Hayden’s wig looks horrible.
I totally agree her wig looks so fake…it doesnt move naturally when she walks.
Finally someone else is bothered by it too. It’s been annoying me for a while, the roots are too ligth the hair colour is unnatural. It’s been looking fake for a while and everyone’s been telling me to stop paying so much attention but I find it distracting (she used to have nice hair).
Well I’m hoping that somehow the eclipse will give Peter back his powers since it would be the opposite of whats happening to everyone else. What I don’t get is, how was it that the older heroes didn’t lose their powers when the first eclipse on the show happened? I think that’s one of the first major mistake on behalf of the writers I noticed.
i agree!!!! there is more and more mistakes
:(:(:(
This Eclipse thing is a good idea ruined by lazy writers.
Point 1)Last night after Pete and Nate fell out of the sky, Pete says to Nathan \”There was an eclipse the first day you flew,\” and Nathan agreed. But that\’s not true. Nathan flew 6 months before the eclipse, when Linderman\’s/Arthur\’s goons attacked his car. Also, Pete\’s powers (starting with the dreaming) began before the eclipse, as did Elle\’s, Claire\’s, Sylar\’s and just about everyone Sylar initially killed before actually showing up on the show. So to say the eclipse \”gave them their powers\” just flat out contradicts continuity.
Point 2) Full solar eclipses are very rare. When they do happen, they only last a few minutes (not all day or several hours or whatever is going on in this show) and they are not visible over a wide area. An eclipse visible in, say, New York, would not be visible in Haiti. It would just be another sunny, muggy day there like any other. This is because of the immense distances and extreme angles involved in an eclipse. It\’s all a matter of perspective.
Point 3) Lawrence Kansas (Where Daphne ran to) is not a freaking corn farming community. It\’s a bustling, active and URBAN college town with interstates, stores and very few actual farmers. Also, they have great concerts there.
It’s a story ok, it needn’t be realistic or else just watch the news or something ok complainer
In real life people cant fly either. Just enjoy the show.
ok for your first point, the heroes, villans powers did not manifest until the eclipse, they were starting to grow before that. and also since the earth and moon were moving the eclipse could have happend in more than 1 place at different times. and also, lawrence kansas has rural areas. well i adressed all of ur points see if u can argue the first 1 i bet u cant. lol
casey the great, its a story dude. don’t take it to serious, even though i agree with you on the fact that the eclipse really didn’t give them there powers. lets just watch for the love of the show and not the minor details. LMAO!
actually their waz an eclipse. if u look in da window of season 1’s flashbeck episode where peter iz standing wen he waz in da hospital w/hiz brother, u’ll c da eclipse.
beacause there are more than 1 generation of heroes and there is something different about this one eclipse.
god not read every reply, but
peter Made and assupmtion, not a statement.
also. i believe, the eclipse takes away there powers until it goes back again, while moons is passing they loose powers until the eclipse is over it returns.
and maybe by coinsidense not many heroes tried using there powers duing, past eclipses, so may not know about it.
one and only problem i see here is, ADAM would have died at any eclipse, by temporarily loosing his powers, (but there would have been a fix to that but they screwed that up by the way they killed him which was flawed IMO) cause they took his healing power away but he should have survived for a while as his healing blood was still in him for a little while after, arthur took away his ability to make healing blood (or adrenaline) so the blood he had in him should temporarily have healing properties, but then he wud die
I think thats because the earlier eclipse was a partial one (Note: peter asks mohinder in the taxi- whether the eclipse would be total for which mohinder says no). Hence no one lost their powers. Also a total eclipse occurs once in 360 yrs.
This is what i think. I’m not sure if there’s any other explaination.
WOW.
Claire was all “I wanna get hurt, I wanna get hurt, I wanna get hurt!”
And now she’s about to die. Tsk tsk, Claire, Claire…
I don’t know why everyone assumes that this eclipse is like any other before it…
Maybe this one is “special”. why would Arthur be unsettled at it’s coming?
That will definately explain why Adam survived for so long and why Arthur is making such a big deal about this eclipse.
Hmmm you’re right, if the eclipse affected the previous generation of heroes (and villains), ADAM would have been long dead. As for Claire, well then, maybe if she survives this one she would be thankful that she can’t feel pain… *pokes Claire with needle*
Can’t wait for next week, this has been an intense episode.
does anyone thinks its werid that before daphne was shown wearing her leg braces that she told her dad that “it” was happening again and that she needed something (i assume were the braces) again from her father? if she has lost her powers before how is that possible? also arthur has been threatning to return her to “how he found her”. does this mean that when he found her she did not have an ability or is it that he made her aware of her ability when she was use to being paralyzed? either way this is beginning to get interesting or filled with plot-holes.
wonder if HRG will actually take the shot? we know that sylar wont die since we have seen spoiler images of him in volume 4. plus he is a star of the show. as for elle, its a bit more complicated. she is suppose to be sylar’s baby mama, but who knows with this show. my bet is that the outcome of this fight will lead to sylar finally becoming a hero and will lead to person he will become in the future
read the graphic novel
HRG doesn’t shoot them, in the preview for the next episode we see Elle restrained and Sylar about to have his throat cut by HRG while Elle looks on and pleads “no”
in the newest graphic novel we see how Daphne discovers her powers and its during the last solar eclipse. the one that happened in season one….which DID NOT give any of the heroes we know from season one their powers, they had all discovered their powers BEFORE the eclipse.
in the GN we see that company guy come and visit daphne and her father just after she discovers her powers, she runs off…. sooo.
i have no clue what author is talking about ‘leave her how he found her’ but if he did take away her powers like she’s afraid of she’d be a cripple again.
to be honest i don’t think the writers really thought out this “eclipse” thing. Its screwing up continuity so horribly and has viewers who actually pay attention to the STORY-LINE and ORDER OF EVENTS scratching their heads saying… what?
and it seems they either don’t care, or don’t know how an eclipse work, like someone further up stated, eclipses only effect a certain portion of the globe at a time… the united states and africa would see the same thing.
its not the acting, or the story lines, or double crossing or any of that thats ruining this show slowly, very slowly for me… its the lack of continuity or rather the writers complete lack of ingenuity to make certain plot devices WORK.
their leaving huge plot holes all over the place in season 3 and in the process they’re destroying everything meaningful in season 1.
i’m losing hope in this show sadly, i’ll still watch, it’s better than most stuff on t.v. they’re just mangling it like the writers are writing some bizarre fan fiction of heroes.
rant over.
Daphne told her dad, “It’s happening again” Meaning, this had happened before, maybe during another eclipse of some sort. I dont read the graphic novels, but which eclipse? The one where everyone was looking at it? Or the one on the night of Nathan’s car accident.
I am dissappointed also. I just watch to pass the time as opposed to watch because its a great show. I think the writing has gotten poor.
By the way, how many years of comic books are they printing. Maybe they should just go to the Publisher?
thanks for the clarifiaction and i couldn’t agree with you any more about the shows writers. heroes is probably my favorite network show, but the amount of plot holes is really starting to get unbearable. for me its seems that they lost a grip of the over story line after season 2 was cut short and are more interested in putting out an entertaining episode to capture ratings instead of developing a cohesive story line that would ultitametly save the show. unfortunately, it will be us, the true followers of the show, who will be lost if this crap continues.
also i saw that canadian spoiler in which HRG has captured both Elle and Sylar and he is about to cut Sylar’s throat, but i saw another image at heroesrevealed.com that shows Elle laying on the beach covered in blood with a line of blood across her skull as if Sylar had openned it up. also in the image is Sylar kneeling over her as her poor what looks to be gasoline on her in an attempt to burn her. looks like the whole Elle baby mama think might be out the window.
maybe it got to this point of ruination by all the complaining by fans last season by which they decided to change the complete stor line and now gaps have been created. just stop complaining and wining k!
tell me about it…all you see in these posts is complaints…plot hole this plot hole that….and then theyll cry when heroes is taken off the screens…
what is with all the complaints..just watch the show and enjoy it….
we want to see more things like what happened in the last few episodes…heroes seems to get better everyweek, and everyweek i end up thinking i cant wait till the next episode….i dont really care if theres an eclipse all over the world….
but its good to see that no one has ability at the moment…and know i cant wait to find out what happens when this worldwide eclipse goes…who gets powers back who doesnt, will peter defeat arthur…
cant wait….come on heroes…bring it on…
ee
who’s complaining? i’m just voicing my opinion on the show and the last time i checked this was the forum to do. i have seen previous fourms where “fans” simply trash the show without any evidence to back them up. what i was trying to do was start a conversation regarding what appears to be off about the show this season. i am not like RICK who says he watches to pass time. i trully enjoy heroes and spent the last week rewatching all the previous episodes including the 2nd season trying to determine if its me or are there real contradictions in the story line and there are. will this stop me from watching the show? Hells no. so how about you “stop wining K! or maybe you should go watch some news
i agree its not like you can stop millions of people from asking what is happening or where is the connection? sooner or later they’ll have to explain it or else more people will watch less… were not complaining in fact were helping saving the show someone has to speak up because if they don’t more viewers well they wont view..
oke sorry
I think they are only going to be powerless while the eclipse goes on (It’s still a full eclipse at the end of the episode), after it they are probably getting them back and returning to normal. I hope Elle stays as a series regular!
i hate the part when elle had to shoot Claire but please dont take her out of the show she is tooo fun!!!
bread
that is exactly what i was getting at. also at the end of the spoiler for next weeks episode shows Claie doing the traditions gasp for air as she comes back to life. so we can be safe to assume that her powers and those of other heroes will come back, but i don’t believe it will bring back peter’s powers. he is shown in future images still using a gun to shoot Arthur. so i would guess that it will take more for him to regain his abililty.
i’ve read episode 13 preview and i think that suresh will enject peter with the formula to bring back his powers so he can save the world… or not:P what do you think?
Okay, I have a question.
If Isaac is dead, and has been, who’s writing the 9th Wonders comic book?
Good question. The only thing I can think of is that he gave that courier his sketch book… or maybe Isaac was just one member of a team…but one would think the Company would have put a lid on that…
Remember…comics are published like 3 months in advance but I believe we are well past that point. Maybe Isaac did a lot more. Just another plot hole to file.
don’t worry fans, i will save the show.
i have special powers too.
my fingers can receive radio, tv and satelite signals.
i can also send data from my mind to computers.
i think i am what the show needs.
Seriously, i think the show is alright. lets face it, this is not a political affair where people vote and make a choice. this is a story written by people who want to and watched by others who wish to.
We all love the show that why we watch it. so why dont we just let the writers show whats on their mind. if you don’t like it you can ……….
Come back peter
good comment
Also, I ponder if when the eclipse is over, will they (meaning the Petrelli guys, Arthur, Peter and Sylar) go back to their original powers? No add ons, they have to re-acquire all that they got? And if that’s the case, will Arthur go back to being comatose?
I don’t think arthur will revert back to being comatose b/c he has already healed himself of that a few episodes back. it will only affect him going forward
Umm… I was wondering where are these comic book issues coming from? Are these the one that Isaac Mendez handed over to another guy when he was about to die? If so, then after his death the future has changed a lot of times, then how can the comic books still be so accurate?
Dude, there are other Pre-Cogs out there.. There wasn’t just Isaac Mendaz.. There are probably thousands of Pre-Cogs.. For example, African dude who got his head decap-ed!! And Angela Petrelli!!
Y would all precogs make the 9th wonder issues??? That was Isaac’s… Duh!
