Heroes: Origins to Run Mid-Season 2

By Sam | May 31, 2007 (2:41 pm) | More: Heroes Season 2 Spoilers/News, Heroes: Origins Spin-Off News

Last year NBC nearly dropped teh ball when they stopped running original episodes of Heroes for a length period halfway through the season, and viewership dropped when the show returned from its break. This year, NBC has something different planned — Season 2 of Heroes will take a mid-season break as before, but instead of re-runs, NBC is going to air Heroes: Origins in its place. The six-episode Origins will introduce new Heroes into the universe, with some Heroes regulars dropping in. The Origins episodes won’t impact the “regular” continuity of Heroes, but fans will have the option of voting for their favorite new Heroes (one will be introduced in each episode), and the “winner” will be included in future seasons of Heroes as a regular. 1. well, better use for the break, thanks

  2. They break in the summer too. I think Heroes could own the summer if they had one episode every week involving a secondary or tertiary character. Maybe even make a short summer series dedicated to displaying the lives of some of the characters that Sylar has killed, or something about how DL and Nikki committed the crime for Linderman. Or how Cluade grew up as an invisible kid, stuff like that. You wouldn’t need the whole cast and could make each episode completey self-contained. No need for the huge production value either, just the basics, character driven begging stories for those characters that had interesting powers that we never got to really meet. And they could be packaged into a DVD set, too. Almost Heroes or something cheesy like that. Why not? Before Papa Suresh started looking for people, they were all pretty much out there on their own.
