The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films (aka the Saturns) has announced the nominations for the 34th Annual Saturn Awards, and Heroes landed five nominations, though it was beaten out by Lost with seven nominations, and tied with Showtime’s grisly Dexter with five. Among its five nominations, Heroes scored one for Best Network Television Series and a Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series nod for Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman), but he’ll have to fight it out with fellow Hero Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura), who is nominated in the same category. Also, cheerleader Hayden Panettiere (Claire Bennet) cheered her way to a Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series nomination.
Finally, the Heroes Season 1 DVD was nominated for Best Television Series on DVD, which seems like a really weird category, but hey, it’s the Saturns, and they tend to do weird stuff, such as having a separate category for Action Movies. What is that about?
