Heroes at Comic Con ‘08: News Round-Up
Like last year, I wasn’t at Comic Con this year to attend the Heroes Panel (maybe next year!), but luckily pretty much everyone else was in San Diego over the weekend, and they reported in about their experiences. Besides an appearance by the entire cast and crew, Tim Kring also showed up with a metal briefcase handcuffed to his hand, and inside was the first episode of Heroes Season 3. What follows may contain SPOILERS regarding Heroes Season 3, but for the most part it’s a news round-up of the Heroes cast at Comic Con.
First Review of Heroes Season 3 Premiere
First up, Screen Rant was one of the people in Hall H, where the Heroes panel was held, and they report the Kring bit about the handcuff and metal briefcase. They also have a short review for the premiere episode that was shown, but they fail to mention if it was the entire 2-hour premiere, or just the first half. Here’s their review:
It was great to see the show again and they did a nice job of re-introducing all the characters with grand entrance scenes. Overall it was very good, involving unexpected circumstances that loop back upon themselves. However much I like the Hiro character, the biggest plot holes involved his part of the story. It’s pretty difficult to write serious drama into a character’s arc when he can just theoretically just pop back in time a few minutes and undo whatever just happened – but doesn’t.
They didn’t seem to think anything else happened at the panel that was worth mentioning.
Heroes Season 3 Premiere Scene-by-Scene Details – MEGA SPOILERS
Luckily for us, Movieweb’s writer was not just more diligent in his reporting duties, but he also took notes on the Season 3 premiere shown at the con. His scene-by-scene breakdown of the premiere is extensive and SPOILER FILLED, so I’m not going to post them here. If you want to read them and have the premiere spoiled for you, CLICK HERE.
NBC.com Interview with Greg Grunberg
NBC.com has videos of their Comic Con experience, but their only Heroes-related video seems to be a gratuitous interview with Greg Grunberg and a bunch of pointless interviews with Heroes fans. Nothing of note, but Greg is a fun guy anyway. Too bad his character sucks so much. Seriously, NBC, you couldn’t tape the panel for your own show? So disappointing.
Heroes Cast Pictures at Comic Con
Fortunately someone who attended the Heroes panel had enough sense to snap pictures of the cast and crew, although to be sure, they seemed most obsessed with Milo and Hayden. Gee, wonder why? Check them out below, and head over to JustJared for more. (click thumbs below to enlarge)

The LATimes has this great picture of the cast at the Con. (Warning: Their article on the Heroes panel CONTAINS SPOILERS.)

NBC.com’s Video of the Heroes Panel
NBC.com has finally posted something useful from Comic Con — the Heroes panel itself! It’s nearly 22 minutes long, and features a Q&A session, a humorous Asian guy in a Samurai outfit, and the cast and crew themselves.
