Francis Capra Joins Heroes Season 3

By Sam | June 10, 2008 (1:25 am)

TV Guide has news of another cast addition to Heroes Season 3 — former Veronica Mars star Francis Capra (pictured, left), who will be joining his Veronica Mars co-star Kristen Bell on the show. According to the article, Capra will be playing a supervillain name Jesse; although nothing else is known about Jesse, including his powers, TV Guide does know that, at one point or another, Jesse will be tangling with Peter Petrelli.

TV Guide says:

OK, now here’s a Heroes newcomer I can get behind — if only because it could offer Veronica Mars fans a very special reunion. Francis Capra, aka the toughie ‘Ron (and Mars viewers) loved to hate, is joining the NBC hit this season as Jesse.

Who or what is Jesse? Not much (including his power) is being revealed, but thus far I’ve found out two things: One, TV’s former Weevil is playing evil, and two, his villainous storyline will find him crossing paths with Peter Petrelli.

One of the 12 new villains, perhaps?

Update: 6/11/08

Kristin over at E! Online has added these tidbits to the character Jesse:

I’ve also exclusively learned that Veronica and Weevil—I mean, Elle and Jesse, do share at least one scene. Francis Capra and Kristen Bell together again? Hallelujah!

My sources tell me Francis is doing a three-episode guest arc as villain Jesse Murphy, a thug who runs with a gang of two-bit criminals. However, Jesse is more than just a meathead. He does have a power. When and where will it be deployed? You’ll have to watch to see.

So I guess that means he won’t be one of the 12 new villains, but just another incidental bad guy with powers.

I loved his character on Veronica Mars! He was the ultimate anti-hero. I can’t wait to see what kind of villain he is.

I just met Francis this weekend - he is an amazing guy and thrilled to have the Heroes part. He wasn’t able to discuss his story arc but did say that he has been working with Milo Ventimiglia who he admires very much as an actor.
He has two very new tattoos (a few days old) on the backs of his hands which I think say “Forsaken” and “Forgiveness”.
Can’t wait to see him in Heroes.
