Former Heroes Cast/Crew on Fear Itself

A couple of Heroes alum have jumped over to NBC’s new horror anthology, titled Fear Itself. Season 1’s Eric Roberts, who played the dearly departed former Company head honcho Thompson, along with Season 1 director Ernest Dickerson, who directed the episode “Collision”, will be taking part in the new series. The show is described as a horror anthology that will feature new episodes every week, similar to what Showtime did with Masters of Horror.

Its 13-episode run will feature installments directed by the likes of Stuart Gordon (”Re-Animator”), Mary Harron (”American Psycho”), John Landis (”An American Werewolf in London”) and Ernest Dickerson (”The Wire,” “Heroes”).

“We’ve teamed up with some of the most illustrious writers, actors and directors to create a distinctive, scare-filled series that will push the boundaries of this classic genre,” says Teri Weinberg, executive vice president of NBC Entertainment. “‘Fear Itself’ will deliver memorable and horrifying moments that will keep fans on the edge of their seats.”

In his episode, Eric Roberts will be co-starring with former Lost alum Cynthia Watros in an episode about a private eye who stakes out a haunted house. I’m guessing the haunted house turns out to be real, or else this wouldn’t be much of a horror show.

Writers for the show includes Dan Knauf (”Supernatural”), Steve Niles (”30 Days of Night”), Victor Salva (”Jeepers Creepers”) and Mick Garris (”Masters of Horror”), with directors like Stuart Gordon (”Re-Animator”), Mary Harron (”American Psycho”), and John Landis (”An American Werewolf in London”).

  1. It’s not “similar” to Masters of Horror, it is Masters of Horror. NBC just picked it up and renamed it because Showtime didn’t want the third season.
