First Look at Christopher Eccleston as Destro in G.I. Joe

By Sam | May 8, 2008 (2:03 pm) | More: Cast: Christopher Eccleston (as Claude)

What are the chances that Christopher Eccleston, aka Claude the Invisible Man, will return in Heroes Season 3, or a future Heroes season? It doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon, if at all. Eccleston has a bit of a history with abandoning shows, as fans of Doctor Who can certainly attest to. His latest work is on the upcoming “G.I. Joe” movie by “Mummy” director Stephen Sommers, and recently Paramount just released our first look at Christopher in costume as the villain Destro, although curiously, I thought Destro had a silver face?

The movie is supposed to explain why Destro wears a MASK… that silver wasn’t Destro’s face but a mask. Chris should be done filming relatively soon; look how fast The Seeker: The Dark is Rising was finished. He could theoretically be doing voice over work as Claude too. While I happen to like the way Claude looks, Invisible!Claude is better than no Claude at all.

He didn’t abandon Dr Who - the Ninth Doctor was only ever meant to be there for one season.

Thanks, Kel. No one seems to listen when I say that.:) And Chris hasn’t abandoned Heroes either. Chris has just been busy. I know he was in LA right before the strike so that may have put his return as Claude on hold.

I think its funny to say he’s “abandoned” anything, that implies he had some sort of commitment or obligation, which he doesn’t. People do the work they find the most interesting and that is not always with previous shows. Although I would LOVE to see claude return it’s his decision. I’m just happy I got claude in the first season.

I’m glad Chris chose to do Heroes Season 1 and I’m glad he did Doctor Who 2005. I’m hoping I can get hold of any of his future projects, including New Orleans Mon Amour, which he’d finished filming right before he did Heroes, but has yet to be shown anywhere other than a film festival that I couldn’t attend. And yes, I already have The Seeker: The Dark is Rising on DVD and I’m looking forward to GI JOE.

Claude is one of the best characters we’ve seen yet imo…. Just who did he train before Peter? Where has he been this whole time? Lots of room for growth with that story and I would love every second of it. Episode 14-20 S1 are some of my favorite episodes ever.

I’d love for them to do a whole bunch of Claude-centric episodes in season 3. Perhaps once the movie is done Chris will both have time and want to return. If that happens, c’mon writers, we know you can give him “something meaty” to do!

well if you read the comics you would know that claude was once partners with noah bennet and worked for the company

Actually if your watched the series you would know that as well.

To anyone who is not aware, I’ve read the online GN’s ALL of them and I’ve seen every episode of Heroes. That said I’m looking forward to Chris’ new projects and hoping that some of Heroes season 3 is among them.

Claude should come back, pretty much everyone liked him and I haven’t seen anyone who doesn’t want him back. So, unless Christoper Eccleston doesn’t want to come back then the writers will probably bring him back sometime soon. Also I think Claude trained the same person that he was protecting from the company before Noah shot him.

most of u will probably hate me r saying this but oh well. i think that there is no reason to bring back claude. he was a good character, but after those couple of episodes in season 1 what was the point to bring him back again.i have nothing against him, thats just what i think. plus, all sorts of characters have died in the past 2 seasons, why aren’t u guys pining over them coming back. i would love to see a couple from season 1 come back. especially, simone’s dad, charles. he just ended randomly after we just realized he had a power and gave an interesting talk to petr.

indian girl on May 27, 2008

wait, ravenclaw, the person he was protecting was claire, so r u saying he trained claire?

Ravenclaw on May 27, 2008

Claude never said he was protecting Claire to my knowledge, he did say “What if was Claire?” Also Claude could make a good return appearing in Noah’s story.

indian girl,
There’s plenty more for Claude to do, and a good bit of his own story is still hidden. Also, Claude IS NOT DEAD as far as we have seen, unlike the other characters you mentioned. He was still VERY MUCH ALIVE when he left Peter’s flat. I’d love to know where he’s hiding. I also wanna know whom he trained and whom he hid, definitively. Right now all we have are theories and speculation. They could show a flashback to him training folks at the Company and losing someone’s file or whatever. They could also show HOW the Company knew he was hiding someone yet didn’t know who that someone was.

Nanana on May 28, 2008

Apparently the person who hes been hiding is someone we know already:S
Hope he does do some more episodes, he such a good, atmospheric actor.

Yes, Nanana, I know Tim Kring said we knew the character but WHICH character? Like I said, at the moment all we have are theories and conjecture, nothing concrete. And Chris is just amazing at any role he takes.

ravenclaw and tarot: don’t u guys remember in “company man” after the house blew up, thompson and hrg had a talk in the company. they were talking about claire. then hrg said something along the lines of she trusted him more than me and i can’t believe he hid her. this shows that he was protecting claire, right?

Ravenclaw on May 28, 2008

It was the Haitian protecting Claire then, or at least if I’m thinking about the right scene it was him.

Tarot on May 28, 2008 Subscribed to comments via email

Raven Claw is right, HRG was referring to the Haitian, not Claude. Granted, HRG and the Haitian know that Claude didn’t die after Noah (HRG) shot him on the bridge but we don’t know whom they told within the Company.

indian girl on May 29, 2008

u guys r right, i kind of forgot that part. still, i keep thinking that claude did protect claire. whatevr.
