Eli Roth to Direct Heroes: Origins Episode, 2 More Names

By Sam | September 21, 2007 (11:13 pm)

Everyone already knows that Clerks director Kevin Smith will be entering the Heroes universe by directing an episode of the Heroes spin-off series, Origins. Now you can add three more names to the list — Heroes producer/creator Tim Kring has revealed three more names to add to the list, and one of them is Eli Roth, the writer and director of the Hostel horror movies.

But if people are excited about Roth, I’m more excited about John August writing a Heroes episode. (If you haven’t seen August’s Big Fish, you are really missing out. It’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time.)

Also, writer Michael Dougherty, who has previously written comic book movies Superman Returns and X-Men 2, will also write an episode of Origins. Tim Kring, in an interview with G4 TV, said that August and Dougherty would only write episodes of Origins, while Roth would write and direct his episode.

(As a curious aside, Roth is supposedly really good friends with fellow director Quentin Tarantino…)

I am very interested to see how Tim Kring ties in the atmospheric elements of the show while allowing Eli Roth to work his craft and genious. In other words im hoping to see a greatly told plot along with body parts! cheers
