Kaito was the key, and one who knew the ins-and-outs. If anyone else knew, they are dead too. There aren't many of the original company left. And Claire as a person is not the catalyst, it is probably in her blood. Her blood has been useful before: saved her dad, saved Maya, and reacted with Mohinder's blood to cure the virus from season 2.
