Discussion Thread: Heroes Season 3 Episode 8 (3.08) Villains

And we’re back! Monday marks the return of Heroes Season 3 to the airwaves after a week off for political shenanigans. (Thank God that mess is over!) Heroes returns with its eight episode of the season, entitled, “Villains”. In it, we travel back in time to find out how our bad guys got to be bad guys — or in the case of Arthur Petrelli, how a bad guy got to be an even badder guy. As we’ve seen from the previews and sneak peeks, Arthur Petrelli makes Angela and Linderman look like boy scouts by comparison. Father of the Year, this guy ain’t! Meanwhile, what’s Meredith, Elle, and a pre-evil Sylar up to? Let’s find out, shall we?

TO PREPARE FOR THE CONFRONTATION AHEAD, HIRO (MASI OKA) EXPLORES WHAT FORCES — AND FAMILIAR FACES — HELPED TWIST SYLAR (ZACHARY QUINTO), FLINT (BLAKE SHIELDS) AND ARTHUR PETRELLI (ROBERT FORSTER) INTO VILLAINS

To prepare for the confrontation ahead, Hiro (Masi Oka) follows respected businessman, husband and father Arthur Petrelli (guest star Robert Forster) in the days before he “died” — to discover what drove him to create rival company Pinehearst and strike at Angela (Cristine Rose). Later, a moment unfolds where Sylar (Zachary Quinto), horrified and guilt-ridden, might have stopped his murderous pursuit of abilities — that is, if H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) and Elle (guest star Kristen Bell) had swayed from their monstrous assignment. Finally, under the wing of Company man Thompson (guest star Eric Roberts), agent-in-training Meredith (guest star Jessalyn Gelsig) watches her new life go up in smoke, following the arrival of her hot-headed brother.

Jimmy Jean-Louis, Malcolm McDowell, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Ron Perkins, Blake Shields, and Jeff Staron guest star.

Hopefully this episode will answer more questions than it poses. Should be interesting though, i cant wait to see sylar being bad again.

i hope they show how arthur its in a coma, for sure angela has something to do with incident. and the question its who was helping her ,linderman perhaps or kaito who knows ,but this episode its about hiro choosing the right company the right side arthur or angela HEROESFOREVER

no i dought that the eclipse will probly happen the moment suresh perfected his version of the formula but at least one thing we can allagree on is that the writers worked on meredithe for a while. remember back in season one "company man" it showed hrg noah bennett recieving claire. from a car wreck meredeth caused it to save her self. or accidentally did and still saved herself. anyway this episode is gonna be fire i cant wait

oh remember the thread were we could help fix and save heroes. i have another thoght tell me if you guys like it. remember the guy with the midas touch..ummm...BOB (sylar killed him) and remember the german who controled metal (knox killed him )what if they got into there stories a litte bit and we found out that not only can bob turn stuff into metal he can also turn himself in to metal>just incase guns were blazing of a knife fight went down hed be pretty safe. agree... no if super villan "the german" was still alive. that would be a hell of a fight. and plus elle wouldnt be able to hurt her father the electricity wuld be grounded and pass right threw him and turn him into a super conducter. i think it was a bad idea to kill this man. WASTE OF TALENT pssh pssh heroes writers. do your job so i dont have to. use what people you have left and definatly make the best out of it cause im afraid of this show getting cancelled. and ill even wrk for free so that dosent happen.

yeah sounds like a awesome idea... not.. and why would ele electrify her own father? she wouldn't do that... I can agree that the german could have been kept alive a bit longer but for me I like how they made Angela the boss of the company. Bob was ze crap in my eyes.

this show is almost beynod saving... heres some things they never should have done.
Season 1 (perfect)
season 2 takezo kensei should have been chinese and should have taught hiro to harness his true potential of time travel. adam should have been a friend of hiro in that time who discovered his power. then hiro leaves and he turns evil.
West was dumb caitlin dumb actually that whole irish thing was dumb bad acters. theres to much wrong with this season if i state all that was wrong with. i wont even be able to get to season 3 (today)
Season 3 was dope. peter should not have lost his powers. thats the shows main main character. i think the writer were on something. and in that future episode wee sylar blew up cause knox killed his kid .tell me it would have been so much better for him to use maya's power cause she wasnt in that episode so it was safe to assume sylar kiled her. onl cause her power works off of emotions and that seen was very emotional. suresh turning into beast from x-men wow four hours of make up before shoting the show not worth it id quit or have the writers fix that little problem. teres more i sorry yall i just gotta vent this show is going down and i just wanna keep it up

wow genesis you make some really good points if i was one of the writers i would have you working for them cuz you culd probly save this show. keep postin genesis i want to no what you think

im sorry i disagree, the writers have purposely done all that to make the show different. If you think about it, Heroes isnt a super-hero show...like smallville or an X-Men...it's much more deep then that! The characters have flaws and they try to overcome them, and some of them have dodgy pasts and must rectify their mistakes. It's not all happy families and i think that's what makes it sooooooooo BRILIANT! If you want to watch a "super-hero" show where everything works out in the end...go watch Smallville!

i think heroes is the best show ever and i liked season one but i expected mutch more of the show and when season 2 and 3 started it was exactly like i expected its a mutch beter show now i love it

yes chara but not just gold any metal he chooses to be and i was just saying in a fight it would be a good idea for elle to shock her dad if he was all metal sothen heculd get everybody else there with a bigger shock than elle can produce. and i don hink the writers did that on purpose cause if they did tim woudnt be firing them as we speak.

ok now I understand but, I think Bobs power is alchemy which means if he makes himself metall I don't think he would be able to "transform" back.

Well...all I know is that I am excited to see this episode...maybe it will tie up a few loose ends. Hopefully =)

i dont care about who die or who remain alive, the only thing that bugs me is the fact that peter have lost his powers, and is gona take a few chapter for him to get them back, and we are gona have to see a lot of trivial stuf before that, i think that they are doing this to make the show last a litle longer, but if peter dont get them back quickly i gona have to get in my car myself and go to the writers and slap them in their faces.lol

Honestly, I think it was perfect the way they showed Sylar exploding in 'I am Become Death'. It shows that they stayed with the same though from 1st season. Remember? When Peter gets emotional? And when Ted gets emotional? They start to loose control. And so did Sylar. Why bring Maya into this? The distruction wouldn't have been that powerfull if it was with Maya's abillities.

There are a lost of things to fix in this show, but I don't think is that many as people keep saying.

I really think that they need to kill of for good one of the main caracters. Hiro maybe, because his history in the last season wasn't good at all.

And I liked it how they took Peter's abillities, altough I am a little bit afraid of how they are gonna to give him back.

Caitlin is lost in some alternative future, Peter can't save her because somehow it doesn't exist anymore. It's confusing I know. But I agreem they at least could have showed that in the show.

I think the main problema is that is not a bad written show, but it is a show that you have to take a lot of guess, and not rely interely on what you see. However the majority can't do that.

Caitlin will come back from the future and hunt peter down and get revenge for living her there...LOL There...thats peters next story arc lol.
