Heroes got off to a pretty nice start last week with the two-hour, two-episode block of “The Second Coming” and “The Butterfly Effect”. Now, everyone is waiting to see what the third episode can do — will it continue the current winning streak, or disappoint? This is your Open Discussion Thread for Heroes Season 3 Episode 3, titled, “One of us, One of Them”.
WHEN FOUR VILLAINS LAY SIEGE TO A BANK, ANGELA (CRISTINE ROSE) SENDS H.R.G. (JACK COLEMAN) AND HER DANGEROUS, NEW WALKING WEAPON IN AFTER THEM
When four ruthless, powerful Villains — “Knox” (guest star Jaime Hector), Flint (guest star Blake Shields), The German (guest star Ken Lally) and Jesse (guest star Francis Capra) — bust into a bank and take hostages, Angela (Cristine Rose) sends H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) and his shocking, new empowered partner in after them. Determined to derail a cataclysmic future, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) must first find what he lost along the way. Meanwhile, Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (James Kyson Lee) track Daphne (guest star Brea Grant) and part of “the formula” to Germany, but run afoul of The Haitian (guest star Jimmy Jean-Louis). Horrified by her ability, Tracy Strauss (Ali Larter) leaves Washington, D.C. to search for answers about Niki. A distraught Claire (Hayden Panettiere) asks Meredith (guest star Jessalyn Gilsig) to teach her how to fight. As his romance with Maya (Dania Ramirez) intensifies, Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) finds himself unprepared when his experiment yields some unexpected results.

I still don’t really understand what Meredith is going to be able to teach Claire. Is she going to teach her how to like.. throw fire? I don’t think she can. Unless she’s moonlighting as like.. a crazy gun-weilding blackbelt who saves the world before lunch, I don’t think she can do anything for Claire lol Anyone else feel this way? lol

MidnightSun, you are right on. I mean, the last time we saw Meredith she was some white trash gold digger lady who spent her time moving around Mexico. It’s not like she’d know how to teach Claire martial arts or something…I mean, when you can make fire, you don’t have to master the ancient Crane Kick, you know?
Maybe she wants to teach her daughter how to get pregnant and blackmail politicians.

I can’t wait for this episode, it’s just 3:00 PM over here and I’m already eating popcorn, no wonder this serie is good. Although, I still don’t really get who is a villain and who is a heroe. I mean does any one really thinks Claire is going to become a Villain? I mean maybe what I think is that some of the villains in this season may just turn out to be the heroes. What does anyone thinks about this?

totally agree, sylar is definetely going to be the secret weapon, seeing as how he knows that the leader of the company is actually his mom! I dont think that the villain Claire we saw in the first episode of season 3 is going to exist: because Future Peter came back and screwed everything up, nothing is how it was suppose to be in the future. maybe Claire DOES go evil, but its not going to be all sadistic-”ive-always-loved-you”-then-tries-to-kill-Peter villain…

I had a feeling Sylar was gonna do some time as an agent when I saw the spoiler promo pics over the summer. Here come the Men In Grey… seriously tough, the Company is a bit like the MIB’s; they have the Haitian instead of neuralizers, but unlike the MIB which helps and hides aliens, the Company, which I very much get the impression was supposed to hide and help specials, seems to have developed its own clandestine self-serving agenda.

I’m wondering about what Meredith can teach Claire too. Maybe Claire just needs an attitude adjustment. Then maybe a few tips on punching, exercising. I imagine their routine to be something like Rocky getting ready for the big fight. LOL
Sylar and HRG! I’m really gonna love the interaction between these too. After what Sylar did to Claire, I don’t think HRG is gonna stand back and be obediant. But it’s not like HRG can do a whole lot to Sylar since he got Claire’s ability.

You know Brian I think you are right, if LV5 is so dangerous then I think those guys are not ment to be on level 5. But in the other hand I believe this Show is just getting started and who knows maybe the producers are trying to keep the real VILLAINS are ment to be kept hidden for the grant finaly. LOL It woudn’t be fun to place all action in the beggining.

I don’t get why they killed off two of the most powerful of the Villians. Jesse and the German had like.. the most destructive abilities of that pack. Unless they have someone else who escaped who’s much more powerful (I don’t see what could be), I don’t see why they did that.

Just watched the 3rd episode and I gotta tell you - this show is starting to make me nervous (that it will inevitably suck).
Ok, here’s some of my beef:
1) The Claire/real mom/obviously rent-a-cop security of Primatech goods is just down right stupid. The ONLY saving grace of that sequence was when claire admitted that she’s really only caring about hurting the people that hurt her - cute. Her mom can’t teach her crap, and the idea that now Claire is gonna become some Rogue-like figure is dumb. If I wanted campy, I’d watch the original Superman movies. If I wanted good writing, I thought I’d watch Heroes.
Ok people - she just got cognitively jacked by Sylar and they brought in pyro to protect her - don’t you think they’d take a little more precaution than letting her just go off on her own to any sleep-over she wants? What’s her (real) mom gonna do? Peep in case anything happens.
And AGAIN the stupidity of leaving the company’s documents just laying around next to the doggy biscuits is beyond me. Unless something devious happens later on where maybe Momma Petrilli is purposely dropping intel for Claire to find for some devious reason this is downright childish.
2) The Sylar partner thing makes NO sense (yet). Let’s not forget this is the person that killed everyone that ever got close to him and (almost) w/o any remorse. Unless someone is proactively controlling him to help out, or possibly just a deal Momma Petrilli made w/ him (be good and you can eat whoever you want), he would have absolutely no incentive to not smoke Noah the first chance he got and not look back.
3) Kill Nicki…seiously already
All of things can be rectified if the writing turns good again and this doesn’t become Desparate Housewive’s meets X-men. I really hope there’s some bigger twists coming, and I mean BIG (and, ftr, one’s that they
