Daddy Petrelli Lives … as Robert Forster

We knew sooner or later that we’d end up seeing him. Who are we talking about? Arthur Petrelli, of course, the father of the superpowered boys Petrelli. Today we got word from the folks at Entertainment Weekly that Michael Ausiello, the mag’s TV scoop king, has confirmed that no other than Robert Forster has been cast to play Arthur Petrelli. Unfortunately Ausiello has no idea if the patriarch of the Petrelli brood will be showing up in the present day, or in flashbacks in one of the show’s many jaunts through time. When you have characters that can travel through time, death is a minor problem.

Given Heroes’ penchant for time travel, though, there’s no telling if we’ll see Arthur in the present, via flashback, or during one of Hiro’s little excursions. Another unknown: whether Arthur will use his powers (’cause you know he’s got ‘em) for good or evil.
Rumors of Arthur’s possible “resurrection” this season have been burning up the Internets for months. And while it’s not clear when Forster will first turn up, at press tour last month, his on-screen widow, Cristine Rose, hinted in this video interview that a bombshell would be dropped in the two-hour premiere on Sept. 22. “There’s a secret that comes out that if you’re a true fan, you’re just going to die,” she teased. “It’s a good Angela secret, and it’s [not about] her powers.”
Robert Forster is a pretty prolific movie actor, but has made forays into television before, most recently in the ABC show Karen Sisco, and guest spots on Numbers and Desperate Housewives. His recent movie credits include “Cleaner”, “Rise”, and “D-War”.

Yes, but how did he compile the list? It didn't come out of thin air. 
this doesnt mean shes gone for good people her story line wraps up but she could come back in season ...
I knew they would have Papa Petrelli on the show eventually. I definitly see him in a flash back scene and maybe present day. Wonder what his power is or was?

He reminds me of Adrian Pasdar. I love his mannerisms and everything, he’s really a great actor and a great Papa Petrelli

i heard that arthur petrelli first met linderman in the army and that he doesn’t actually have any powers (this came from a heroes cartoon) i hope this isn’t true

He did meet Linderman in the army. Petrelli was Linderman’s commanding officer on a mission. When Linderman showed Arthur Petrelli his powers, Petrelli seemed freaked and then went all psycho. If Petrelli has powers, it didn’t seem he had them at that time but after the war. I haven’t read the comic in a while so I could be wrong.
I’m excited that Papa Petrelli will be in this season. I can’t wait to find out Angela’s secret! With all the rumors about their being a 3rd Petrelli sibling, I wonder if it’s Angela’s or Arthur’s.

The secret is that Sylar is Angela’s illegitimate child.
Think about it- she knew about peter and nathans powers b4 they did (she can see how things worked) and it said that a character was adopted (sylar). And the family resemblence; peter- dark hair, dark eyes; mama petrelli- dark hair, dark eyes; nathan- dark hair, light eyes, but maybe papa petrelli had light eyes; sylar- dark hair, dark eyes, and his “mother” from season 1 had light hair, and she didnt realy seem to understand him.
and wouldnt it be somewhat poetic if peter and sylar were brothers? they ARE kinda rivals, cus peters the only one who could possibly take him.

AND!!! remember when it showed her in that one preview telling sylar “he must be strong for whats to come” and acting all motherly? Maybe because she’s his ma? just a little theory… and you know that its just the sort of twist NBC would toss into the 3rd season.

I totally agree with sylar thoery, It all makes sence, I think the haitian is gonna mind wipe him then Angela will tell him hes a Petrelli and thats when he’ll start working with Noah and if this happens I hope he is able to remember what happens at the end of the season and goes crazy and goes back to being evil.

i totally aggree that syler is a adopted child and is the brother of peter and nathan but the haitian wiping sylers mind wiped is most unlikly cause you see a preview of syler hunting clair for her power and on the mega spoilers he gets clairs power. But i hope its true the haitian deos wipe his mind tho that would be cool kind of like the haitian did to peter in season 2, but I’m just saying its unlikly

yep, rikku and hero guy. i think the same. number 1 heroes fan..yes he does hunt clair down. but the whole mind wiping thing could happen aftr that. once HRG sees what happened, he will be mad and will use the haitian on sylar.

but its weird how the actor they got doesnt look like how arthur looks like in the company picture although that pic of him is a lil distorted
maybe that is his power is an illusion ability but to make his illusions real..? i dunno like alter the way things look just a guess

I thought so to Helix but i have my doubts as we saw when hiro went back to his moms funeral doesnt nessesarly means hes not tho I made that prediction ever since she said that her a kaito fooled aorund, I wonder if Maya killed her whole family at her bros wedding if not iw ouldnd seeing what her parents powers were cuz it seems like everyone with power has it in the family..

Arthur Petrelli has gotta have some powers considerin the rest of the Petrelli family have powers.
I wonder how long Angela Petrelli has known the Haitian for? Probably a lot longer than Noah knows him. Cos the Haitian seems to be a lot closer to Angela than Noah.
Arthur Petrelli were in the army/war along with Linderman, that wud mean that he was away for quite a while. Maybe Angela sent a very young Sylar with Arthur when he finished his time in the army/war & spent their days far away from Nathan & Peter so they won’t regcognise Gabriel Gray {Sylar}?
Also when Sylar visited his mum back in Season 1, he said something very interesting, I can’t remember exactly what he said; something like that their aren’t his real parents or something?
